I really liked this place. It is simply incredibly nice. Of course, this perception is helped by the lovely manager, whom we liked very much, but it is also about the charm of the hotel. It’s a charming, beautifully renovated intimate tenement house on a busy street. This location makes you feel like you are in the center of town life, but it’s not tourism, but reality. On the other hand, the guesthouse is not squeezed into the compact development. There is a lot of space around and gives the place a light character. A huge advantage is the brilliant view of the panorama of the historic part of the city! You can see the entire hill, and with the change of time of day, its colors change. Beautiful view. Our room was very comfortable and beautifully furnished. The long balcony was priceless. Underground city parking was available free of charge. From the hotel, a ten-minute walk over the bridge takes you to the exit of the main street in the tourist part of Coimbra.

Susana was an amazing host, and little Arya too! They both warmly welcomed us with a wide smile, alongside some cute gifts, a cool Praxis beer and many treats for our dog... and a puppy bed that served as a soft pillow. It's not easy to find amazing stays that are truly pet-friendly as well. Location-wise, it's walking distance from Coimbra's downtown though it might still be better to use a car since it's a bit of a climb. There's a supermarket, a few cafés, and most points-of-interest south-west of the river close-by. The room has it own entrance and a small patio, which is convenient (Susana lived upstairs), and it was very cozy and well decorated. While it does not have a kitchenet per-se, it actually felt more like an apartment, and would be great for shorter stays or those looking to eat out more often (the city has tons of great restaurants). The microwave and coffee-maker should fulfill most needs.

We had a fabulous time in Coimbra largely due to our stay in this beautiful old house beside the University. Any modernisation done is minimal but very well done. The bed was super comfortable and the shower was excellent. Thank you to Ana and Filippe for all your care and attention and your excellent tips for things to do and see and eat! The location was perfect for me, right in the heart of the old town. It's a 20 min uphill walk to study at the university. The accomodation could not have been cleaner and the kitchen comes surprisingly well-equipped. You can cook a proper meal and enjoy doing so, which made a lot of difference when it came to stretching my budget. CLose to a wide range of restaurants and cafés if you want someone else to take the strain. Biggest thank you has to go to the amazing Liliana who seems to do all the jobs! I haven't met anyone this generally helpful and friendly in any other customer-facing role. She's full of advice, good ideas, and extra little bits of care you didn't know you needed, like when to remember an umbrella because it would be raining later. I will return!!

Beautifully renovated house. Amazing decor and lovely host. We were so comfortable staying at Paula’s house. It’s an easy downhill walk to the lovely old town of Coimbra. Paula gave us a great suggestion of a local restaurant for dinner and lots of helpful information about the town and its history. Louis greeted us the next morning with the most amazing breakfast. Perfect stay!

Fabulous room with jacuzzi, very romantic. Great hosts in a good location above the Mercado, close to the university & many restaurants. Anna helped us to take our luggage upstairs to our room. Breakfast in bed was a lovely surprise! You won't regret staying here!

Lovely host Paula spent a lot of time with us explaining highlights to see in Coimbra. Very well looked after at breakfast and a very generous spread on offer. Very happy with our choice for a 2 night stay in Coimbra - car parking included. Quite an easy walk into old town and the university precinct, as long as you are not in a hurry.
