The Best Adventure Hostel is a recently renovated guest house in San Gil, where guests can make the most of its garden and barbecue facilities. This guest house also has a rooftop pool. The accommodation features spa facilities, free WiFi throughout the property and family rooms. More than satisfied with my one week stay here. The staff were very friendly and helpful the entire time. Wifi was strong though the thick walls in the old house weakened it. I was still able to work without problem. Fantastic location as near the intersection where the best restaurants and cafes emenate from in San Gil and only a block away from the main square.

This family run hotel has lovely friendly and helpful Spanish speaking staff, clean, comfortable & spacious rooms, very functional, stylish and spacious common areas. Enjoyed the firepit. Especially loved cooking in the large shared kitchen that was well equipped. Easy to communicate with before arrival and during the stay when out with WhatsApp. Staff accommodated for and assisted in organising birthday celebrations. Location is 8 minutes from the main road so was very peaceful with great views across the hills and cool breezes.

Situated just 42 km from Chicamocha National Park, Hostal Colombian Gold offers accommodation in San Gil with access to a bar, a shared lounge, as well as a shared kitchen. Enjoyed my stay at the hostel. Room came with a comfortable bed and had shelving to put my things. Big shower with hot water. A rather simple hostel in terms of facilities, but had a nice common area and drinks, etc are available for purchase. The owners were very knowledgeable about buses, activities etc although I did none as I suffered from the worst case of food poisoning in my life while there (they were supportive of me during it). Everything kept very clean. Neighborhood is safe and close to the central square. A bit limited neighborhood if you like to not always eat Colombian food (the opposite side of the square offers more options) although I highly recommend Terramonti House around the corner for gourmet international cuisine at reasonable prices. Wifi was lightning fast though it did not always get along with my Chromebook Internet card (not their fault),
