I stayed in the shared rooms. I had plenty of privacy as each bed was in a walled-off cubby hole. The three Onsen on site were excellent and the bus stop was a couple of minutes walk away. It’s situated right along the Kumano Kodo route and perfect for a day or two hiking.

The provided breakfast was delicious. The back house also holds a treasure trove of old books and is more relaxed.
