Adil and Goodwin were hosting and they are very friendly and jovial. We have a shared kitchen to cook food, and rental bicycles to roam around the beautiful Munroe island. And also its lakefront view and they have kayaking as well. I've been in the HostelExp Varkala and liked the vibe there and came here and it's worth it. Maybe my favourite hostel after 4 months in India - I booked for 2 nights and ended up staying over a week. You can get out of bed and jump straight into the backwaters. The sunrise boat tour through the mangroves is a must (& really good value). Loved the Keralan breakfast in the morning, and appreciated being able to use the kitchen to cook my own food after travelling for ages! Attracts a great backpacker crowd and is super social in a chill way. Rooms are simple but clean and the outdoor common areas are perfect - hammocks galore. Thanks for a great stay 🌊🌴🌞

This was my first solo travel. The moment I reached the hostel, I could feel the warmth. Nikhil, Vikas, Kartik are really helpful, fun and warm people. The rooms are decent and the place has a raw touch. The food made by Kumar bhaiya was yumm too! The vibe of this place is immaculate. Great location, safe for solo girl travellers. Not to mention, lots of cuddles from the cute pups, cooper & mini.

The Hostel Stories in Varkala is an incredibly friendly place to stay if you're visiting Varkala. I’ve been there for three weeks, and from the very first day, I felt at home—even though it was my first time in India! The hostel has a beautiful garden with hammocks, chairs, and fruit trees, always filled with good vibes and friendly people to chat with. The atmosphere is both calm and welcoming, making it easy to connect with other travelers while also having space to relax on your own. If you're traveling solo, I promise you won’t feel lonely! There’s also a lovely terrace where you can practice yoga early in the morning, hang your clothes to dry, or simply lie back and watch the stars at night. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the hostel is just a short walk from the South Cliff, where you’ll find the amazong ocean, cafés, restaurants, and all the shops you might need. A huge thank you to Pintu and all the staff at the hostel—you made my stay unforgettable!

Shafeeq, the ever jovial chef, brought laughter and warmth to every moment. Vineesh, the creative soul behind the hostel’s quirky art, added a splash of personality to the space. And Steven, a fellow traveler from Hyderabad, became an unexpected companion whose presence made my stay even more memorable. They helped me plan my daily itinerary and even included me in their evening hangouts walking along the cliffside beach, sharing stories, and playing endless rounds of badminton. And then there’s Angel, their adorable indie dog, who added an extra layer of comfort and companionship to my stay. She’s the kind of furry friend who makes a place feel like home. This experience completely reshaped my perception of hostels. What started as a solo trip ended with me gaining a second family. I’d choose Yes Hostel again in a heartbeat no second thoughts, no regrets. If you're looking for a place that’s not just comfortable but also filled with warmth, laughter, and unforgettable company, this is it. I stayed there for a week and it was lovely. The place is really clean, the rooms are nice and the common areas are great. They really care about their guests and it was a good place to stay, close to the cliff but not in the middle of the Varkala tourists chaos. Thank you all so much for everything!!!
