After being at this place for 1 night , I just feel oh god can I stay here for a few more days . This place has a vibe . I wish if I could give a 10 star rating for the host too . Been on a backpacking trip in Srilanka for a week till now . As far as I have seen this is the best value for money dorm I have been in . Hopefully I'll come back here soon

My stay at Diamond Shine Hostel was an absolutely wonderful experience. What I liked most about this property was the exceptional hospitality and boundless cooperation I received from the owners. They made me feel truly welcome, even offering tea and coffee, which was a lovely gesture. A situation arose where I forgot my power bank in a taxi, and they went above and beyond to help me contact the taxi driver and retrieve it. They even took me in their own car to assist with this matter. Mr. Mahesh was incredibly respectful and kind, as were his daughter and wife. Their entire family made me feel right at home, and I received nothing but kindness and wonderful treatment from them. In short: A fantastic place with incredibly hospitable staff and family, always ready to help with respect and kindness, and thoughtful touches like offering tea and coffee. I highly recommend this place!

Convenient & Clean place, So close to city of kandy, wonderful Sri Lankan traditional break fast "pittu" best one so tasty, also Rice and curry dinner enjoyed so much. Shalu gave a good rate for the drop hire to Dabulla and he has a very good knowledge about the country so good English, very helpful. Thank you so much.

I met some nice backpackers in the hostel by the lake. When I wanted to extend my stay and switch to a private room in the hostel on the hill, they got me a tuktuk to move from one to the other. They helped me find a scooter to rent and gave me recommendations on taking the train towards ella. When I wanted to store my luggage for a few days they arranged that as well. Such friendly and helpful people. And nice rooms as well.

We initially planned for only 2 nights, however extended our stay as we loved The Bliss! We stayed in the superior queen room, which is even better than the photos show. Lovely, clean accomodation situated amongst serene nature and a beautiful garden at an amazing price point. We had minimal issues with bugs/mosquitoes during our stay. Thanu and Chathura were fantastic, and make you feel like you’re at home. We had freshly prepared dinner by Thanu most nights, and the dishes were superb! Organise your tuk tuk through their driver Aja - very reasonable prices, though be prepared to hold on tight haha. We organised a day tour with him and his brother to Sigirya, Dambulla and Pirandugala at a really good price! They were both excellent. The accomodation is out of the town centre which is part of its appeal. It’s not hard to hail a tuk tuk either to the accomodation (ask the manager to talk to the driver to direct them), or on the main road. Alternatively getting the bus into Kandy was super easy - walk 10 mins down to the main road by the river and ask the locals where to stand for the bus stop. There are so many buses that pass by. Let the bus drivers assistant know you’re going to Kandy and they’ll let you know if you’re getting on the right bus. The bus fare ranges between 35-45 rupees one way. If you want to get the bus back just ask the locals (at the main Kandy bus terminal we got 613 towards Digana, and got off at the bottom of Jambugahapitiya Road then walked up to The Bliss). Overall, an absolute must stay in Kandy! Stunning accomodation at an amazing price point, with kind and heartfelt service from their staff. We will definitely be back if we return to Kandy.

When you enter the first hotel, you get rid of all the tiredness of the road due to a nice welcome, the staff is friendly, the service is excellent, you feel not only at home but also special, it is impossible to get this service even in many five-star hotels,Based on the price you have given breakfast is very very nice,the food is very tasty and so cheap, in a word, great a hotel,I would like to thank all the staff, especially the smiling and positive gentleman at the reception.
