Sian and Peter West are Principals of Ocean Blue Coastal Retreats and discovered the Mornington Peninsula in 2004 when purchasing a holiday home as an investment. In 2006, Blue Moon Cottages was purchased and a group of four cottages formed the core of the business. Since then, more accommodation was added and we now have a portfolio of more than 40 properties in both Metung and the Mornington Peninsula. Their knowledge comes from living on the peninsula since 2008, holidaying in Metung for many years and working closely with Tourism Victoria and Mornington Peninsula Tourism. Sian and Peter have built an award-winning tourism business and are both “hands on” in the business, ensuring both guests and owners are provided with attention to detail at every level.

Property information

Longer stay discounts available for direct bookings In summer we simply walk across the road to the beautiful beach with shallow blue water and white, white sand.  Its perfect for our kids to play safely all day long.  In winter we take walks along the beach when the sea takes on a wilder appearance and Paddington our four-legged friend is allowed to walk and run. The house is a townhouse and was great for our family and we shared with another family.  There is a small cottage (Shoreline Hideaway) at the rear of the property that is completely separate and you can book it with the house or it is available to other guests.  So you need to leave the driveway clear but other than that everyone has their own private space. The foreshore on this part of the Mornington Peninsula has the best beaches and we walk in either direction and take in the spectacular views of Port Phillip Bay along the Bay Trail.   Our favourite spots are the upstairs lounge where we snuggle up with a book and a glass of wine in front of the gas fire in winter and watch the weather change across the bay.  In summer the balcony is the perfect spot to sit and watch the beachgoers. Everyone loves the outdoor heated spa. It does only seat 4 at a time so for larger groups...get in line. IMPORTANT TO NOTE - Property is suitable for maximum of 8 adults plus additional children. PAWfect What fun! a new house to visit that lets four-legged friends like me sleep inside. Yay! a safe little courtyard at the front and back of the house and I can smell the sea. We can walk on the beach every day (depending on the time and season) and splash in the sea

Neighbourhood information

Our favourite spot for coffee and breakfast is only a 7-minute walk away at The Kitchen and for something special we always choose Veraison Restaurant which is only a 5-minute walk.  At Capel Sound you will find a host of cafes including Unica Cucina E Caffe which is our recommendation.

Need-to-know information for guests at this property

Please note that there is a 1.7% charge when you pay with a Visa or MasterCard and 3.42% for American Express. A 50% deposit needs to be paid within 48 hours of booking, and the balance at least 30 days in advance of the arrival date via credit card into the secure guest portal we provide or via BPAY. We will also require your direct email address, a photo of you holding your photo ID and a list of guest names and ages to be uploaded into the guest portal before your booking can be confirmed. Guests will receive our full terms and conditions upon booking and payment of monies will constitute agreement to these terms and conditions.
