Neighbourhood information

The Cairngorms National Park is absolutely full of scenic variety and endless natural wonders for you to enjoy. The rare wildlife stronghold of the National park, and a landscape shaped by the ice ages makes this location an exciting treasure trove of fun to explore. Ramble across the Cairngorm hills which were formed when the last ice age covered this country. With the landscapes characterised by high, rounded humps carved through spectacular and deep gorges the variety of geology in the area is truly remarkable. The National park is home to a fantastic array of rare wildlife. Just over one quarter of Britain's 400+ most rare and endangered wildlife species are protected within the park. If you are lucky (and quiet!) you might spot such species as the osprey, red kite, golden eagle, otter and pine marten, sheltering in amongst the sub-Arctic and mountain plants. As well as the impressive uplands in the area the lochs and rivers in the region are home to some world class salmon fishing, wildlife and habitats making it yet another area not to be missed. The waters offer a variety of scenic delights including gorges, waterfalls and tranquil expanses of streams. The river Spey that flows through Aviemore is one of the best salmon fishing rivers in Scotland which has many walks and is less than 0.5 miles away from the property. Also the start of the Speyside way (long distance walking route) is also less than a mile away from the house. For more information on local walking routes click here. For further woodland and forest walks visit Loch an Eilein on the Rothiemurchus Estate in the heart of the Caledonian Pine Forest, or there is Glen Feshie, one of the magnificent valleys on the north-west side of the Cairngorms. Loch Insch sits at the bottom of Glen Feshie and offers a great selection of activities on land and water. If you are in search of a beach visit Loch Morlich is a must, where the sandy expanse proves popular with fisherman and water sports...
