Company info

David and Glen are a husband and wife team, who love entertaining and meeting new people. Expect a warm welcome and we are happy to help in any way we can to make your stay a memorable and enjoyable experience. David is now retired and in a former life ran an award-winning bed & breakfast in Cumbria. A keen motorcyclist, he is the founder of 'Ride Global' set up in 2021, with thousands of bikers from 99 countries doing a 24-hour ride around the world starting in New Zealand and ending in Alaska in a relay raising money for COVAX. Today he is a trustee and Director of St. Petrock's who are Exeter's local homelessness charity. His wife Glen runs her own PR Consultant and event management company working from home. She was actively involved in the launch of the National Lottery in 1994 paying out major lottery winners and drinking lots of champagne! Media trained she was the spokesperson for Camelot across the South West and was popular with the regional media who dubbed her 'The Lottery Lady'. The third and very important member of the team is our gorgeous working cocker spaniel Jack whose title is 'Head of Happiness'. A fun, loving, and well-behaved dog, Jack is much loved by our guests and offers a warm welcome to our home. We all look forward to meeting you.

Neighborhood info

We love living and working in Exeter and call it 'The small city with the big heart.' At its centre is the majestic Exeter Cathedral, an Anglican cathedral, and the seat of the Bishop of Exeter. The present building completed c.1400, has several notable features, including an early set of misericords, an astronomical clock, and the longest uninterrupted medieval stone vaulted ceiling in the world (Ref: Wikipedia). If you are visiting us during the festive period you will find us perfectly located for you to walk into town and enjoy the annual Cathedral Christmas Market. Here you can relax with a glass of mulled wine and find the perfect gifts for your loved ones. There are many eateries located in and around Cathedral Green including Lloyds Lounge; The Ship Inn, an oak-beamed Tudor Inn with a nautical heritage much loved by Sir Francis Drake, Cote, The Ivy, and many more. Soak up the atmosphere, relax, and unwind in a beautiful and historical location. Located in the leafy suburb of St. Leonards we are blessed with numerous amenities close by, including Quirky Magdalen Road, a popular shopping village with a wealth of independent shops, cafes, a great pub, an organic farm butcher, a family-run traditional cheese shop, a delicious deli and much more. It even boasts a Ukulele shop that can give lessons! Or why not take a picturesque stroll from our home to the historical Quay, made famous in the 1970s as one of the main locations for the BBC's well-loved, Onedin Line. Here again, there are many eateries to suit all tastes and dietary requirements as well as quirky independent warehouse shops. from here it's a short stroll to the city-centre. Red Coat tours are available from the Custom House FOR FREE! RD&E is a leading University Hospital and the Nuffield are both conveniently located just a 5 min walk from our house. A short drive to Exeter International Airport and 2.5 miles to St. David's Station with major connections.
