Can't overestimate how great a property this is. The owners are fantastic, the location is great and it was spotlessly clean. The owners even offer if you would like to meet and interact with the animals during you're stay. Can't wait to go back

The cottage is a converted farm building on a smallholding in Swansea, where you can enjoy peace and privacy with panoramic views across fields to the Gower. The cottage is small but has a double height living area with the mezzanine bedroom above the kitchen. We have retained the character of the building inside with the original stonework painted white. There are two bedrooms each with a double bed. The downstairs bedroom does have a small and then larger, step up to it and has a wardrobe and chest of drawers. There is a small window from which you can see the sea and the North Gower Peninsular. The mezzanine room has a bed and two comfortable chairs next to the large dormer window from which to enjoy the views of the countryside and where you can catch some spectacular sunsets. The kitchen is fully equipped but the fridge is small (in keeping with the cottage) and has just a small freezer compartment. The shower is hot and runs well and the towels are always toasty on the towel radiator in the bathroom. There is a small courtyard outside the cottage back door, which is a private space to sit at the outdoor table and chairs and enjoy peace and fresh air. There is a single car parking space outside the front door of the cottage on the country lane. Parking is available on our driveway if your party has 2 cars or you are more comfortable parking in a larger space. There is a refundable deposit fee for the fob for the electric gate to the driveway which is payable in cash on arrival and will be returned to you at the end of your stay when you hand the gate fob back. You can step out of the front door to enjoy mountain walks and wildlife. The Lliw resevoirs and Cwm Clydach nature reserve are in walking distance as is the village and local pubs that serve food. We offer secure storage for bicycles and the area is renown by keen cyclists. Swansea, Mumbles and the Gower beaches are a short drive away.
My name is Lisa and I live on the smallholding with my partner Stuart. Our house adjoins the cottage and one or other of us is usually around or contactable by mobile phone if guests have any queries. We feel really lucky to live on top of the mountain with the panoramic views of North Gower, Mumbles, Swansea and Port Talbot and lots of places for dog walking outside our gate. We cannot allow free access onto the smallholding as we have ducks that wander freely and a pair of donkeys in the fields as well as a large, exuberantly friendly dog. If you wish to meet the animals, just ask, and we will arrange to show you around. Some of our younger guests have enjoyed collecting duck eggs and picking strawberries and peas and petting the donkeys. They've also enjoyed 'going on a bear hunt', in the long, swishy grass in the fields in the summer. We've tried to create a cosy, homely space that allows you to enjoy the peace and quiet. The small TV has freeview channels but the sideboard is filled with books, games and binoculars to watch the local wildlife and birds.
The cottage is on a mountain overlooking Swansea, Mumbles, the Gower and over to Glynneath . There are walks over the mountain and into the village and down to the Nature reserve. Swansea is 9 miles away with it's beachfront and retail and dining opportunities. Mumbles is 4 miles further with it's pier, prom and ice cream parlours. From here you can access Gower and the fabulous beaches of Langland, Caswell, Three Cliffs, Port Eynon, Rhossilli and many more. The mountain road takes you over the common to Ammanford and into historic Carmarthenshire with Aberglasney house and gardens, Carreg Cennen castle and Druslwyn castle all easily accessible. The pretty market town of Llandeilo is 15m away with its independent shops and Dinefwr castle and House well worth a visit. Walking, cycling or car are the best modes of transport from the cottage depending how near or far you wish to go. There is a bus stop 0.5 miles away with an hourly bus service into Swansea centre.
