Islecoft House Bed and Breakfast overlooks the picturesque harbour of the Isle of Whithorn, one of the most southerly fishing villages in the Machar Peninsula of Dumfries and Galloway. It comprises of 3 contemporary en-suite bedrooms, all of which have magnificent sea and harbour views.
The Isle of Whithorn is no longer an island. In 1790 a causeway was built linking the island to the mainland. For many centuries ‘The Isle’ as its known locally was a thriving seaport. Today there is still few commercial fishing boats, however you will now mainly see small boats used for fishing, kayaking and sailing in and around the harbour. Visitors to the area are drawn here for our beautiful beaches; scenic coastal walks; forest park walks; cycling; bird watching; photography and visiting local historic sites and gardens. The village has a pub, a shop and tearoom, a local brewery, two art galleries, a church and a sailing club.
