Company information

Hexham holiday homes is a self-catering accommodation provider based in the heart Northumberland. The business was established in 2018 by local entrepreneur Jordan Dodwell. Growing up in rural Northumberland, Jordan shares a love for the area and it’s no surprise the county was named The Best UK holiday region in recent years. Jordan is well known in the area area for running an Italian Restaurant & cocktail bar, Vercelli, and recently taking over the Greenhead Hotel & Hostel located on the Hadrians wall path.  Jordan has built up a young, eager team in a short space of time. All local, they have a great knowledge of the area and our team can be reached 24 hours 7 days a week by the guests. All our properties are located in the Tyne valley and all within a 20 minute drive to Hadrians Wall. Our properties are all hand picked by Jordan with many under going full refurbishments prior to us allowing them on the holiday home market. Once they are ready for guests the properties are managed by Laura & Helen, maintained by Josh & Craig and cleaned by Ashley, Marie & Sara. Hexham Holiday Homes has a variety of modern and traditional properties to offer a home from home service.

Property information

Isaac’s cottage is located in the peaceful village of Allendale. Surrounded by the Northumbrian hills it makes a perfect base for exploring on foot, 2 wheels or even 4. This stylish, recently renovated cottage has 2 double bedrooms, a large walk in shower and a cosy living space. The spacious and fully equipped kitchen allows you to make this place your home for the duration of your stay. Although Allendale is a quiet village, it has an independent grocery store, butchers, farm shop, tea rooms and multiple pubs. Head further a field to Hexham and you will find an abundance of shops, restaurants and supermarkets. Venture to the 2000 year old roman town of Corbridge to explore the dozens of independent clothes shops, jewellers, gift shops & many more. The famous Roman forts of Vindolanda and Housesteads are only a 20 minute drive away with the Northumbrian coast line and the entrance to the lake district only a 60 minute drive east and west, Isaac’s cottage really is the ideal base to explore this beautiful part of the UK.

Neighbourhood information

Perhaps because of the traces of shimmering silver and lead ore running through its rivers, Allendale means ‘Valley of the Shining Water’ in Celtic. Twice crowned Village of the Year for All England, this pretty, stone-built village in the heart of the Allen Valleys may be small in size, but it is big in personality. Allendale’s vibrant community is renowned for throwing a party. Most famous is the Tar Bar'l, a unique New Year celebration. This festival of fire dates back to 1858 and has attracted onlookers from far and wide, including celebrated English poet, Philip Larkin. The May fair is a chance to enjoy traditional village fete activities and sample the produce from local farms and traders. In late summer the valley’s rich musical heritage is celebrated with the two-day Allen Valleys Folk Festival, which attracts some of the top folk acts from all over the UK. Try a pint of Allendale real ale from the town’s own brewery, tuck into generous sandwiches and homemade pies at the Allendale Butchers or call into one of the traditional village pubs which sit around the village square. This countryside of contrasts attracts w
