The cottage is situated on the historic battle site of the 1645 Civil War in Naseby which saw Cromwell's defeat of King Charles 1st. if this is of interest to you there are several Battle field view points to visit locally, each with information plaques. Countryside walks can be taken from the cottages garden. Local pubs include the Red Lion Sibbertoft, Bulls Head Clipston and Royal Oak Naseby, red lion Thornby. There are also numerous independent cafés and restaurants in Market Harborough. the closest town is Market Harborough - 7 Miles away, the town has a range of independent shops, restaurants, cafes and train station.
