Situated within the Weaving Shed of an attractive former textile mill, on the Pennine Way in North Yorkshire. The small village of Lothersdale is in a rural valley; five miles from Skipton and on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We can offer bike use, trout fishing in the local stream (in season) and there are numerous country walks. The nearby towns of Skipton and Haworth are popular tourist destinations. Parking in the yard outside the property (see photos).
Managing Director of an old textile mill in the north of England, which we are developing as mixed residential and commercial space. Interests include history, gardens and the countryside, construction and design. I've lived and worked in many countries. Organised and reliable. I am Director of Dale End Mills, Lothersdale and work in the mill; I'm generally available to give help and advice, a quick show-around or a full tour of the mill and grounds (for a fee).
Lothersdale is a small rural village, typical of the traditional Yorkshire Pennines. There has been very little modern development. We are right on the Pennine Way, along-distance hiking route. We provide info about things to do, including walks, visits and local activities. The nearest small towns are Crosshills and Earby, Skipton (with a castle and other tourist attractions) and Colne are about 5 miles away. The tourist towns of Haworth, Hebden Bridge Ripon, Harrogate and Knaresborough are about 25 to 45-minutes drive away. There is no public transport; guests will need a car if they wish to leave the village. The nearest train stations are in Cononley and (a little further) Skipton. The closest shops are in Crosshills or Earby. Our water comes from a borehole and is just filtered - good to drink, no chemicals added. In winter I'll leave enough firewood for woodburner for one night, after that please pay 5 pounds per sack. Kindling and firelighters provided. The washing machine and dryer are in the attached garage area, there are bikes you can use in the same area. We have good brown trout fishing in season (late March to late September), please enquire in advance.
