St Michaels House was the Rectory for St. Michaels and all Angels Church until 1985 when it became a private home. The church is right next door and still retains the pretty box pews and some attractive stained glass windows. The small village of Poughill is in the beautiful rolling hills of mid Devon with views across to both Dartmoor and Exmoor. The entire top floor of the property has two large bedrooms and a shower room. The suite of two rooms can be booked as a whole and would suit a family . A traditional English breakfast with home made marmalade and jam is served in the conservatory or on a fine day on the garden terrace. Tea and coffee making facilities are available in the suite. A delicious home cooked meal can be provided with 24 hour notice.
Diana and Paul have enjoyed hosting guests in St Michaels Coach House for the past 10 years and have this year decided to make available the top floor of St Michael's House to host more guests. The space was originally their sons rooms but since they have now left home the very spacious rooms are ideal for anyone wanting to come and enjoy the peaceful countryside of Mid Devon.
Poughill is right in the middle of Devon so the North coast and South Coast beaches are easily accessible as are both Dartmoor and Exmoor. The Cathedral city of Exeter is 25 minutes away. Within a few miles are two delightful National Trust Properties , Knightshayes and Killerton. Of course there are also wonderful walks right from the doorstep!
