Set in an 1850’s detached Victorian building, The Cimon features a large patio garden, and a 30-foot outdoor swimming pool. Located in the heart of Torquay, the guesthouse offers free Wi-Fi and free parking. All rooms are equipped with their own bathroom facilities, a flat-screen TV and tea/coffee making facilities. Some of the rooms have panoramic south-facing sea views across the whole of Torbay and are also equipped with a DVD player and a small fridge. The Cimon also features a licensed bar for residents. There is also a south-facing dining room overlooking the sun terrace & pool area. The guesthouse is less than half a mile from Torquay’s sandy beaches and less than a mile from Torquay Rail Station. Agatha Christie used to reside in the town and the hotel is just an 8-minute walk from the Agatha Christie Mile, the location for a tour of her life and work.

The Cimon is owned and run by Julia and James. We took over the guest house in October 2020, following a dream and a lifestyle change. Our aim is to create a warm and welcoming environment for all our guests, with a comfortable bed, a delicious breakfast and helpful service. Elegant but relaxed!

The Cimon is set in an elegant 1860’s detached Victorian villa retaining many original period features. Indoors the guests can enjoy use of the upstairs quiet seating area and ground floor lounge including residents' bar with games. The conservatory looks out over the large patio garden with 30ft heated swimming pool. The Cimon benefits from plenty of onsite parking at the rear which is free. Guests also have free access to the fibre optic wifi in central areas and rooms. A range of room sizes are on offer all with en-suite bathrooms, a flat-screen TV and complimentary refreshment tray. Sea-view rooms have panoramic south-facing vistas across Torbay to Paignton and Brixham.

Neighbourhood information

The Cimon is well located being less than half a mile from Torquay’s sandy beach, Torre Abbey, the Riviera International Conference centre, the bustling promenade with Princess Theatre, the shops and of course the Marina with its wide choice of bars and restaurants. It is also only a mile from Torquay Rail Station and Agatha Christie Mile, the location for a tour of her life and work. Although located in the popular heart of Torquay, the Cimon is set back from the road offering a quieter, relaxing atmosphere. At one time it was a Nunnery! You can enjoy a warm welcome and comfortable stay at this family friendly establishment.
