Bluebell Cottage is a late 18th century thatched cottage set in a small hamlet on the edge of a picturesque Wiltshire village. Nestled between Salisbury Plain and the Vale of Pewsey, this is a perfect location from which to explore the tranquil surroundings of the North Wessex Downs.

Bluebell Cottage is located right in the heart of the North Wessex Downs, there are iconic Wiltshire White Horses in the Vale of Pewsey which are carved into the nearby chalk hillsides. The White Horse Trail, is a 90-mile walk taking in all eight of the existing white horses dotted along the Downs. The nearest ones are Devizes created in 1999 and Marlborough originally created in 1804.
The city of Salisbury is a mediaeval city steeped in history. Built in 1258, Salisbury Cathedral is home to one of the most celebrated documents in British history, the Magna Carta. Hosting several events throughout the year, and a library boasting thousands of books and documents dating from the medieval period to present. Visit Old Sarum, showcasing 5000 years worth of history, from the Iron Age taking in the Romans, Saxons and Normans, from this Iron Age fort and the site of the first Salisbury cathedral. Wilton House is the home of the 18th Earl of Pembroke, featuring beautiful gardens and a house open to the public. Wilton House has been welcoming film crews for several years, so you may be stood on the set of one of your favourite films or television shows.
In and around Wiltshire and Berkshire there are several houses you can explore such as Longleat House and Gardens, an Elizabethan house that is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful stately homes in England. Highclere Castle, home to teh Earl and Countess of Carnavon, and known as the fictional home of the 'Crawley Family' on Downton Abbey. Stourhead is a spectacular Palladian mansion, set within 2,600 acres of world famous landscape gardens and woodlands.
