Sampath is a cheerful local who grew up at the beach. His chill personality is a welcome reminder to relax and enjoy life. "I want to give a good experience to my guests, share laughs and have fun" -Sampath

Property information

Cocoplant is a truely local Guest House on the east end of Midigama and only a 1 minute walk to the nearest and most consistent surf spot in the area. Sampath (the owner) grew up here. As a boy he and his group of mates shared a single surfboard when the surf was up and played cricket in the adjacent coconut plantation It was his dream to run a guest house to meet surfers and travelers from around the world. The old family property has been turn into the most surf friendly Guest House with 13 rooms, all private bathrooms, comfortable spring mattresses, mosquito nets and fans. The property also has a surf shop for board rental, surf lessons, surf supplies and a cool place to hang out. The restaurant is at the front of the property with amazing views of the surf. Rent your scooter from us, ask to arrange before you arrive. Located next to a convenience store and across from 2 great point breaks.

Neighbourhood information

Midigama is a village on the South West coast of Sri Lanka, the town doesn't have much more than a few local stores, a lot of surf spots and friendly locals. There is the odd cow wandering the streets and if you sit still you'll see a lot of wildlife both on land and in the water from monkeys, parrots, butterflies, and lizards to dolphins whales and turtles. Shops are located in Weligama, just a 5-minute drive/bus ride away but you can get the basics in town and from our onsite shop.
