Harmony at Huailan Home Ecolodge, ‘Your Happy, Healthy, Healing Home with Heart' is woven with love into the natural and cultural landscape of On Tai, San Khampaeng, 30 minutes from Chiang Mai. If you seek comfort and connection: close to nature and local life, while staying in a charming, cozy, spacious, well-equipped and private cabin, you will love staying with us. Relax on the balcony, overlooking our serene fishpond, with breathtaking views from sunrise to sunset. Head to the village to meet local artisans. Learn to weave, make a local snack, or traditional Thai massage ball. Head 10 minutes up the road to scenic, Huai Lan Reservoir to explore forest, hills and lakes on foot or bike. Retreat and recharge with meditation, yoga and forest bathing. Families love sharing their kid’s excitement: feeding our fish or picking fresh vegetables from our garden. Couples and friends love watching birds play as sun sets over our fishpond; and using our ‘local gems’ map to explore local noodle stalls and coffee shops and meet local artisans! We have 2 charming, private cabins. Each cabin sleeps up to 5 people, in a master bedroom with 1 double bed, a twin room with 2 single beds, and a sofa bed, perfect for kids or teenagers. We have a baby cot, free on request. Each cabin has a toilet, shower and spacious balcony. The living room is warmed with wood and earth tones. Charming features, including cushions, curtains, basins, bathroom tiles, and lampshades are hand and heart made by local community members. The loft design ensures fresh airflow, balancing coziness with space. All bedrooms have fans and A/C. Books, toys, frisbees and footballs keep children happy! Breakfast is a choice of fresh, healthy, delicious Thai and western dishes. For dinner, we offer tasty Thai menus, including vegetarian, vegan and Halal options. We can recommend great, local restaurants. Guests are also welcome to use our kitchen, and barbecue in the garden. We look forward to welcoming you.

Dtor weaves her work with her passion for meditation, forest bathing and providing a truly warm welcome to every guest.
Harmony at Huailan Home Ecolodge is a perfect base for exploring the simple, profound beauty of our area; from Ban Pong Huai Lan and the On Tai villages, to Sankhampaeng, Mae On and Chiang Mai. Here, you can find the real Northern Thailand, where most people still live a traditional life, close to nature; while the young generation add colour, with many cool and creative, micro-businesses. Within 10-15 minutes on foot or bike, you can reach scenic Huai Lan Reservoir. In the evenings, local people set up small barbeques along the waterfront, and enjoy chatting and chilling. If you feel active, you can bike or hike into the forest. Easy, flat routes take only 45 minutes to an hour (20 mins by bike); while more challenging hikes, such as the summit of Doi Ngum mountain, take around 2 hours, rewarded with stunning panoramic views of Chiang Mai. Guests enjoy exploring the local villages by bike, using our in-house map. Within 20-30 minutes, you can reach many charming local restaurants and hidden gem coffee shops. Our favourites include Chuen Café and Need Café for breakfast; On Tai Farm, Green Moon Café and Cacao Garden for lunch; and Sabuy Garden and Nasi Jumpru for dinner, offering some of the best Thai food in Thailand. If you miss western food, Ban Pong Lodge, just 5 mins up the road, offers a full menu. If you feel less active, local community members offer trips by motorbike-side-car, lots of fun! A short drive up the road, reaches many other great destinations, including Chiang Mai Art Museum (10 min) where a community of local and international artists live and create art; San Khampaeng Hotsprings (20 min) for a warm mineral soak and traditional Thai massage; and Mae Kampong village (1 hour) for cute restaurants, fresh arabica coffee, hiking and waterfalls. Beautiful Chiang Mai City, with it’s historic temples, vibrant markets and diverse food is easily accessible. Rent a car from Chiang Mai, or we can help you to organize a car or minivan to explore.
