With its excellent all year warm climate and classed as a malaria free area, St Lucia is a must on the bucket list of any traveler, whether local or international. With its perfect location, tucked in between the main street of St Lucia and the St Lucia Estuary, the lodge is ideally located within short walking distances of all the St Lucia Village has to offer. The on-site Hippo Café is a great option for an early breakfast, lunch or refreshing drink as well as our on-site Safari & Hippo and croc tours offices, ! The daily serviced, 26 units are all fresh and spaced out along the property, each providing comfortable, quality accommodation with a built in kitchenette. All units are standard with selected channel DSTV, air-conditioning and private en-suite facilities. Braai facilities are available to resident guests.

The Hippo Lodge was built in 2019 and is the ideal accommodation facility for the individual traveller, families or groups. The Lodge presents self catering and semi self catering apartments. With the focus on comfort the modern design, layout and facilities have been tastefully combined to provide guests a comfortable stay. Braai facilities is available on site and with the shops a mere 2 minutes walk away, fresh supplies are always available. Complimenting the lodge is the Hippo Cafe, a modern style coffee shop that does not only serve the best breakfast, ice cream and pizzas in town but also delightful breakfasts and meals all day long. Guests may also take advantage of the locally based Go Safaris that provide a wide range of activities and excursions on offer that include Hippo and Crocodile tours on St Lucia Estuary, BIG 5 Safaris in the Hluhluwe / iMfolozi Game Reserve, day and night safaris into the iSimangaliso Wetland Park and much more.
