Just beautiful. The temple is gorgeous and serene. We had the family room with a private bathroom which was clean and a good size for our family. The dinner was perfection and one of the best meals we had in Japan. We wish we had booked for longer.

Our best stay in Japan, an experience we will never forget. The temple itself is a beautiful, peaceful place just a few steps away from Okunoin. Our room was spacious and clean, really comfortable and equipped with everything we needed: yukata and tanzen, towels and toothbrush, tea set; toilets were shared but located in the same corridor. The food was light yet delicious and made us feel full and happy :) The monks have been welcoming and we really apprecciated having the chance to attend the ceremonies and the meditation held in the beautiful main hall; they communicate in english and in the room you can find detailed english information about the activities. We didn't use it because we had other plans but there is also a onsen for the guests. We left Koyasan feeling so serene and wish to be back one day!

The whole experience was wonderful and the personal exceptionally friendly. Were freindly and open to english speakers, and gave an fascinationg insight to their lifestyle. They even helped us with a misunderstanding from my side and were extra helpful all the way. Could not imagine a better stay.

Authentic experience in a mountain guesthouse, managed by a kind couple. The place is interiorly fournished in the traditional style with a last centiry-themed (50/60/70s? - not quite sure, but it is beautiful) dining room. The dinner and breakfast were superb! The hosts offered to guide us to koyasan (one hour drive one way) the next day. We were running a bit late and the hosts very worried about us - we want to say thank you once again for your patience.

We loved the attention to detail, especially the vintage record player with Japanese vinyls and how well stocked the kitchen was (oil, spices, rice, coffee etc. - the best we had in Japan!). Staff was very accommodating. Very spacious, perfect for our group. We had to change the group size due to a mistake of our own and it was very easy to resolve, thank you for that. We had a great time!

A lovely experience - we especially enjoyed the meditation, morning prayers and amazing traditional vegetarian meals provided. The location is great- just a couple of minutes walk from the incredible cemetary and 15 minutes walk into the centre of town. Our room with bathroom was spacious and very comfortable, with lovely garden outside.

So beautiful and serene. Lovely one-night stay. Cute rooms (Japanese / Monk style); quiet place with a reasonable number of guests. Peaceful setting, well maintain. Enjoyed the hot baths. Vegetarian meals (very enjoyable). The Monk spoke a really good English. The morning religious service was a really good experience This was by far my favourite area of my trip around Japan. The area is so calm and relaxed and the temples beatiful.
