Location - the property was situated a short walk from the hustle and bustle of Hiriketiya Road, being quite central to the town and restaurants between Hiriketiya/Dikwalla. Cleanliness - the villa presented in a very tidy manner and I didn’t have any issues with critters etc. Facilities - the host ensured there was always plenty of water at the villa, the bathroom and bedroom were both spacious and the kitchen was convenient. I had no issues with mosquitoes during my stay so the room was well sealed. Air conditioning and a fan were fantastic. Host - very polite, readily available and able to assist with any query. Fantastic trip.

Most of all we had a great time due to the owners, Randima and Lakmini, they are so accommodating and friendly and really made the whole experience of staying in their home such wonderful one. They are both interesting people who are easy to talk with and gave us an insight into Sri Lankan life, politics, food, fauna and so much more! They told us of local events and parades happening, helped with logistics, and assisted us on so many occasions; they truly went above & beyond. Secondly the balcony is superb - it exceeded our expectations and although the lake is small it is brimming with wildlife and you get a great view of it all from the balcony (which is right outside the room). This was like a wildlife safari all in itself! If you’re into bird spotting, this place is a must 🦜 The room was truly huge, clean, spacious, the bed comfy. It is near enough to the main road for easy access but not noisy at all and you and can’t see the main road, while the walk up the track to the house in the dark is lit by fireflies. There are several shops and a good restaurant on the road, and the bus stop is very close for getting to the nearby towns, villages and beach stops.

I can only recommend Blue Point Rest (former name: Golden Beach Resort). The hosts are extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful. The rooms are very clean, spacious and cozy with a nice balcony or terrace. The breakfast is varied, extensive and very delicious, although personal wishes are also taken into account. It is only a few minutes' walk to beautiful Goyambokka Beach. There are also dining options nearby. I've stayed here several times and I feel right at home there. Thanks to Ushan and his family for the wonderful days.

Charith has been a great host and his family has taken good care of us during our stay, always being attentive to our comfort. The beach which is great for surfing or swimming is also extremely beautiful and early in the morning you can see fishermen in their traditional boats. The rooms are big,comfortable and very quiet. We also had dinner there twice and we can tell you Charith is an excellent chef. We had the honnor to be the first customers at the small restaurant they have just opened. We wish them the best of luck and hopefully we'll visit them again soon

Wow, this was the best experience in Sri Lanka for us! The room is decent, clean and good, but the hosts make all the difference. We were invited for the birthday of the hostess’s husband, with cake and their complete family. Such a loving family, and the breakfast was 10/10. The place was modern and extremely clean. It was less than 100 steps to the beach. The use of the kitchen facilities including the washing machine was fantastic. The staff couldn't do enough to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. One of the best places we have stayed in Sri Lanka....and we've stayed at a lot.

We will keep stay in this hotel in our memories forever! Very lovely staff is a great addition to delicious food they make in affordable prices, views of wild animals, well-kept garden area, point of birds observation in their natural habitat and nice chamber swimming pool. Close to Rekawa beach and turtle reserve. Birds are fed by the owners, rooms are clean. Our favourite stay in Sri Lanka!

Deep Blue is a private villa offering rooms with boutique style décor in Matara, 500 metres from Polhena beach. It has a private beach area and an outdoor swimming pool.

We choosed this place after two very long flights as we arrived from the other site of the world, Costa Rica. Our choice was based to be able to relax and...this was the best decision ever. The place is super quite, super nice staff, Restaurants are a 5-10 minutes walk and the more turistique place Mirissa is just a 10 minutes drive. This combination was for us just the perfect place to be.
