The historic building and furnishings were beautiful and inviting. The staff were very attentive and friendly. They were also able to provide information about the town and area that is not easily found because most of the staff live nearby but also have been working for the hotel for decades. The room was magical, with a balcony overlooking the ravine and at least 2 castles. The experience was surreal.

The tall giant room has a very comfortable king size bed, plenty of space for relaxing on the big sofa, having meals, a palace looking vibe, a cute view of the liberty park out the balcony, Nespresso/chamomile tea available, frigobar, big wall closet, a practical bed table, it is warm inside in winter, bed linens are nice. The bathroom has a big sink, lovely hand painted tiles, comfortable and practical, I liked the most to be able to choose between a rain courtain, the hand shower and the bathtub with the vintage set; the stained glass window is cute. Wish they could add a hand towel and moisturizer in the bathroom. It was practical to use the self check in options, smart light switches (light colour changes), separate smart speakers in the bed/bathroom, the screen is big and easy to move (close the curtains and I felt in a movie theatre). Room smells nice, feels clean, all looked cute and welcomes you tu enjoy. Loved the welcome Portuguese sweet treat, the recommendation to visit miradouros, the availability of the hosts, how eclectic and glamorous the whole house is, spacious and private, safe and fun, funky and vintage looks, plenty of things to do, worth a week long stay. I adored Charlie, the Great Dane, he's so handsome! The place has the best location, no Uber/tuk tuk needed if you like to hike to the national park, castle, palaces, historic centre, etc.
