This was such an unforgettable experience. We were supposed to stay for just one night but ended up staying 4! Okay, from the beginning. We had different accommodation in Hakuba, but we weren’t satisfied so we were looking for something else and found Dark Horse by chance. The moment we walked into the house, we were greeted with smiles and warmth. Andy, Rika, Momo and Hana create something truly special. We’ve stayed at hundreds of hotels and such, but this one will stay in our hearts for a long time. Everything is well thought out, you can see it’s taken care of down to the smallest detail, you can see it’s done properly and not just to be the cheapest. We felt so beautifully hosted. They also have an amazing sake collection to try, and the food is delicious too. Thank you again and we already miss it. I hope we’ll get the chance to meet again. PS. Offering barbecue facilities and quiet street view, Hakuba Amber Resort by Jade Group is located in Hakuba, 43 km from Nagano Station and 44 km from Zenkoji Temple. The property has mountain and garden views, and is 12 km from Tsugaike Kogen Ski Area. The property features a hot tub, free WiFi throughout the property and a 24-hour front desk. The pictures don't do it justice. We were at the two bedroom house and the view, the furnishing and the decorations were breathtaking! Also there's 2.5 baths instead of 2 as advertised. The location is perfect - about 10 minute walk to the restaurants. However what really made our stay so memorable was the service team. They felt like family and were super responsive to every request on WhatsApp. From restaurant and onsen suggestions to helping us book tables. They sent their own car in a snow storm to rescue us from cortina when all taxis cancelled on us. Words can't describe our appreciation and thank you for making our annual family trip so perfect.

There is a terrace and guests can make use of free WiFi, free private parking and an electric vehicle charging station. Great view and position on a picturesque place. The onsen was very, very nice, staff are kind. Breakfast and lunch are top quality set menus, with top presentation - well worth adding them, especially given that there isn't anything around walking distance. Great 5 star experience for a relaxing day in nature.

And the breakfast was amazing as well

This ryokan provides free private parking, a 24-hour front desk and free WiFi. Guests also enjoy access to the hot spring bath and hot tub, as well as the public bath and open-air bath. Baths were amazing, service was exceptional.

A 10-minute drive from Hakuba Happo-One Winter Ski Resort, Pension Tomato offers spacious Western-style rooms with a loft area. Free WiFi is available at the entire property and guests can reserve a private open-air bath overlooking the forest. A free shuttle is available from JR Hakuba Train Station, which is a 5-minute drive away and must be reserved at time of booking. Forest views are available from the 2nd floor of the accommodation. Private Onsen, beautifully built. Onsen time scheduled for 45 minutes so everyone can get his turn without stress. Multi Onsen booking possible. The owners (a very nice couple) deserve the title of „best hosts ever“. They printed out train schedules and circled the trains we had to catch, they helped us plan a daytrip, they drove us to the next hotel, so we didn’t have to get a cab. If I could, I would even give additional stars for this pension. I will certainly return.
