The onsen was so private and cozy. It was one of the best places we've been in Japan. Also, there was a yummy place with the grilled meat near the hostel.

The food was delicious and much of it was grown (rice) or made (plum wine) by Ken or Yuki. They provided great recommendations for restaurants and side trips. They ensured we were prepared with all the details required to ensure we had successful adventures. We are so lucky to have we picked the Sakonomichi. It was sugoi!!!

We were supposed to go to Tokyo the last 3 days of our holiday, but we where glad that we canceled that, and went to Shikuoka instead! The falls and wasabi fields and hikes nearby were great excursions, and then come back to the villa was a real dream! Also there were no other guests, so we had the whole place for ourselves…. The area is popular for hiking and cycling, and bike hire is available at the accommodation. Best hotel In Japan! The room was big, comfortable, we booked the speedway view since in the summer you don’t see Mount Fuji and it’s was pretty amazing, you can see the cars practice and race! My boyfriend loved it and the museum is very nice too. Very nice staff too :)
