We had the best breakfast in Sri Lanka here and the buffet dinner is very very good.

I felt really well looked after, the staff always checking to make sure I was happy and even a delicious aloe Vera drink on arrival. My host even gave me directions to get to Ella on the bus and came to make sure I found the bus stop ok- this was so lovely! Off the main road and set in a beautiful garden with spice trees. We had dinner there and had some of the best Sri Lankan vegetable curries so far on our trip. Owner organised transport from Ella and to Tangalle at a reasonable price as well as the jeep for the safari. The cottage was clean and had warm shower and AC.

The lodge also organized my private safari and my guide, driver Janaka, was excellent. I actually liked my Udawalawe safari better than the one I did in Yala.

The property features an outdoor pool, hot tub, fitness room and water sports facilities. We spent two nights at JML Villa Foresta with the family and honestly, it was the best stay we’ve ever had. From the moment I booked, the owner was in touch and super helpful. Even though he lives abroad, he made sure everything was taken care of and that we were happy. You don’t often see that level of communication and care. Getting to the villa is an adventure in itself. It sits right on top of a mountain, and the hotel provides both the off-road vehicle and the skilled driver you’ll need to get there. Once you’re at the top, the views are absolutely jaw-dropping and the weather shifts constantly, so the scenery feels alive and always changing. The villa is just beautiful. A mix of stone and wood that feels both rustic and luxurious. Everything was clean, cozy, and comfortable. Outside there’s a pool with an incredible view, and inside you’ve got a pool table, big flat-screen TV, and a sound system you can crank up without worrying about disturbing anyone, since the villa sits on its own massive 25+ acre estate. Total privacy. RSpecial thanks to Ravi, the host, who looked after us with such professionalism and warmth. He made sure we were comfortable at every moment. And the food? Honestly next level. The owner had told me they serve more than what you pay for, but I didn’t realize just how true that was until we sat down. Every meal was generous, beautifully presented, and delicious. The dishes just kept coming until we couldn’t eat another bite. If you’re after breathtaking views, complete privacy, amazing food, and a team that genuinely cares about your experience, this is the place. We loved every minute and would come back in a heartbeat.

Tucked away in a beautiful forested area, it’s the perfect spot to unwind and get close to nature. You’ll be surrounded by lush greenery and the peaceful sounds of the forest—truly an escape from it all. The staff here were awesome—super friendly and welcoming. Big shoutout to Asanka, who went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. It’s rare to find people who genuinely care, but that’s exactly what you’ll get here. The food was just amazing! The Sri Lankan dishes, in particular, were a highlight—so much flavor, and everything tasted fresh and authentic. From delicious curries to all the classic local sides, it was honestly some of the best Sri Lankan food I’ve had. If you’re looking to relax, enjoy great food, and be around wonderful people, this place in Belihuloya is definitely worth checking out!

Given the price paid for the room, we had overall a good experience and the bed was extremely comfortable.
