Cardrona Hotel features an iconic on-site restaurant and bar. You can enjoy the picturesque gardens while sipping a drink on the patio. This hotel features a hot tub, a ski drying room and shared lounge and laundry facilities. It was a welcome rest as we arrived by bike. The front entrance is vintage and unassuming…but behind the long hedge is a huge beer garden which serves very tasty and reasonably priced food. We didn’t go in to the restaurant as the beer and garden food sufficed. The room was comfortable and looked in to the courtyard. The staff were all very friendly and were able to accommodate our bicycles. We really enjoyed our stay and recommend people go in the front door and check it out.

Archway Motels & Chalets offers quiet and secluded accommodation, only 200 metres from Lake Wanaka. Set on 2 acres of gardens featuring native trees, tulips, roses and fruit trees, the spacious grounds include a covered BBQ area with picnic tables.

The location is great, just a 5-minute walk to the town center. The host is very kind and showed us the local food options and other facilities.

Located in Twizel, Ben Ohau Villa provides accommodation with private pool, free WiFi and free private parking for guests who drive. With garden views, this accommodation offers a patio. The villa has a picnic area and a hot tub. Location was private. Not a bad drive to Mt Cook.

Featuring a restaurant, the 4-star hotel has air-conditioned rooms with a private bathroom. Guests can use the hot tub, or enjoy mountain views. The staff was very nice and helpful even though we checked in late. There’s even a complimentary wine.

Guests can take in the views of the sea from the balcony, which also has outdoor furniture. For added privacy, the accommodation has a private entrance and soundproofing. Superb location, beautiful house, everything we needed had been thought of. The outside bath was amazing!

The luxury tent provides lake views and an outdoor fireplace. Relaxing and amazing place Thank you for the option to stay here, it was so humble, neat and clean! Every little touch was in the right place which made our stay perfect

At the bed and breakfast, all units come with a outdoor furniture. A microwave, a toaster and fridge are also provided, as well as a kettle. The units include a private bathroom, a hair dryer and bed linen. We absolutely loved everything about our stay at this unique cabin. Such a brilliant location with the most special view (even when we had a bit of rain on our final morning) and incredible surroundings. Photos really cannot do this place justice - it’s just beautiful and the little patio area is perfect for enjoying some outside time in this part of the world. This cabin offers a really unique and cosy stay, and we would definitely recommend. Having spent five weeks travelling around NZ and staying in many different types of accommodation, this was the standout! We could not have asked for better or more friendly hosts either - thank you so much David and Sandy, especially for all your tips while in the area!

Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with a children's playground. The accommodation offers a shared kitchen and free WiFi. What a great place to stay! All very new and well equipped. The best kitchen I’ve seen on my trip. I stayed in one of the cabins with lake view, but I got really into the camping vibe because of this place. Just be aware you have to go outside to go to the bathroom/wash your hands - no sink in the cabin. Not a problem for me though.
