Wonderful hotel right in the centre of Bath's Royal Crescent. The staff were perfect, helpful and attentive. Many small details marked the stay, which shows the quality of the establishment (magnificent building, splendid interior). The room we stayed in (we had an upgrade) was on the back side of the hotel and had its own little terrace; it was very large with a bedroom area, a ‘sitting’ room, a very large bathroom and an entrance hall. We had no direct neighbours, so the room was very, very quiet. The breakfast was excellent (small buffet, and menu offering different types from full English to eggs benedict, and a vegetarian menu). The spa was very pleasant (too bad the sauna wasn't working, but the hammam, bubble bath and swimming pool were). We went there often and there were never more than 5 of us in the spa. We had also booked a treatment (‘work it out’ massage), which was absolutely brilliant (many thanks to Meg)!

The quality of food was excellent, both at breakfast and with evening meals. We tried different choices on different days and every one was delicious. Every member of staff was friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The location is great if, like us, you are visiting a wide area, including Bristol, Bath, Longleat, Slimbridge and Dyrham Park. It's just off the M4 so very quick and easy to find.
