    This church is much more interesting than the Duomo (...

    This church is much more interesting than the Duomo (although the outside of the Duomo is impossible to beat!). It is a very large church and has extensive grounds and tombs. Although we had been to Florence a number of times, we had never been inside because every time we were in that area, the church was closed.

    The hotel is located 5min walking from the Basilica of Santa Maria Novella. You can walk to the main attractions from there. The hotel has a 24-hour concierge, which is great and unusual in Florence. The room was comfortable and complete. Modern bathroom. The staff was very nice and accommodating. I left my luggage there in the morning and they have a safe room for it.
