They looked beautiful but unfortunately a wee old man took a wrong turn and drove down them which meant they had to be closed off to be surveyed for any damage. Tip: lock up your grandad and take away his car keys if you want to visit

Just down the street below the steps is the headquarters of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta. This possibly qualifies as the "World's Smallest Country", as Italy has given this building Extraterritorial status, which means Italy has no authority here. The Order issues its own stamps, which are sendable only to some countries. Most countries don't recognize the sovereign status of the Order, but it has official observer status at the U.N.

Avoid food right in the square (super overpriced). Make sure to check reviews of places before eating there (4.0 stars or more). Don’t sit on them or you’ll be yelled at. Check out Liazza del Popolo after.

Beautiful day on the Spanish Steps.

Beautiful day on the Spanish Steps. After we roamed around, we found a table at the rooftop bar at the top of the Spanish Steps and had some beer and wine - very relaxing and we could see the entire city from the rooftop bar.

    Beautiful

Beautiful Bering to Rome 20 years ago, really enjoyed sightseeing again and beeing able to see the beautiful parts of Rome. The only thing that really shocked me at every place was the dirt and rubbish everywhere. The tourists don’t care where they leave their stuff, no one is willing to carry their rubbish until it can be disposed properly. People just through their rubbish into the beautiful flowers/nature or leave it on the floor. This is a no go and should be fined, I’m sure they would have enough money then for a proper clean up. Especially in the heat, the rubbish smells and makes the whole town look bad. I cannot believe how disrespectful tourists and the own people are to such a lovely city.

    Good view from the top.

Good view from the top. Other than that, not super impressive. Also don’t shake hands with the migrants. This is one of the main places they try and slip a trinket (usually bracelets) into your hand and then badger you to pay them for it.

We really enjoyed our stay at this apartment and Alessandro was a fantastic host. He met us at the apartment to give us a walk through, which we appreciated. Each bedroom had an ensuite, which is invaluable when traveling. Located on the 5th floor, there is a modern lift if your legs are tired and the apartments are ideally located in the mid-section between the Vatican City, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and the Colosseum and Roman Forum. Nice restaurants nearby or a short walk away. We highly recommend it.

The location of the hotel was excellent, and we were able to walk to all the attractions of Rome we wanted to - Trevi, Spanish Steps, Victor Emanuel, Pantheon, Synagogue, Piazza Navona, the Coliseum, via Condotti, via Nazionale, etc. There were an abundance of restaurants close by as well as mini markets, clothing shops, ice cream shops - in fact everything we were looking for was withing walking distance.

Short and sweet stay in Rome made perfect by Rezidenza Piranesi Boutique Hotel. We stayed in a superior room with a balcony — modern, clean, and surprisingly spacious for Rome standards. The staff were attentive, professional, and made us feel very welcome. The location couldn’t be better — right by the Spanish Steps and within walking distance to most major attractions. Highly recommended for anyone looking for comfort, style, and convenience in the heart of Rome!

Perfect location, right next to the Pantheon and in the heart of the city. The street outside the hotel is full of restaurants and shops. Trevi Fountain is just a 6–7 minute walk away, as are the Spanish Steps. The staff is extremely helpful and the property is spotlessly clean.”

Beautiful central apartment very clean and functional for a family of four. A few minutes to the metro and within walking distance to Trevi fountain and Spanish steps (6-8 minutes). The host was very friendly and responsive to any questions. They also organised airport transfers at reasonable rates.

Loved this apartment in Rome, 5 mins from Flaminio train station and also the Piazza del popolo which has heaps of good restaurants and the Spanish steps close by, i would definitely recommend staying here. You have the whole apartment to yourself and it is quite big with a huge balcony and great amenities, very comfortable room and just a great stay.
