Trevi Fountain

Much to the annoyance of his fellow gods who chose to simply materialise, Oceanus preferred to travel by cumbersome shell-shaped chariot. Constructed in 1762 at the height of the baroque, the Trevi Fountain is one of the world’s most elaborate – and romantic – fountains. The God Oceanus is the fountain’s centrepiece. Swimmers take heed: beware of the vigilant fountain police!

If you know how extreme over-tourism can get, go there on a peak day. The area itself is quite small and the crowds are unbearable. Consider a 2AM visit on a winter weekday. Otherwise you will be disappointed.

I saw Trevi Fountain in 1969.

I saw Trevi Fountain in 1969. Could not tell you if it changed any in the last 50 years. This time around it was a madhouse. Standing room only. Had to push and shove to get up close for a picture. It's a hotspot so be prepared for the crowds. 50 years ago you didn't have everybody trying to get a "selfie".

Try to do late in the day and just up the side street is a fantastic resturant and bar... outstanding for a relaxing cocktail. It is called Comodo! Then after a few of their cocktails go back to the fountain and see in the dusk/dark with all of the lights on before going to find a resturant to eat.

I would suggest to wake up early and arrive to the fountain around 7 am in the morning. You will still find a big crowd of people, but it would be far more pleasant and comfortable than going there later in the afternoon.

We loved it.

We loved it. We got there just before they closed down the site to visitors but it was very crowded. If you want another view of it, try the store across the street which has large windows to take photos of Trevi Fountain.

I can highly recommend this apartment. The location is perfect – just a one-minute walk from the Trevi Fountain. The apartment was spotlessly clean and fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. The older lady at the reception was exceptionally kind and welcoming, which made the stay even more enjoyable. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you for everything!

The room is small but comfortable, the shower large and very nice and the views are just incredible. We had breakfast here every morning and it was always great. The pain au chocolate is always amazing and fresh. Sitting at the roof for breakfast is such a lovely experience. The hotel is a walk from everything, we didn't need a taxi at any point of our holiday and we saw the four corners of Rome. Colosseum, Vatican, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain and so much more. Great experience.

This was such a nice and clean apartment. It's quiet even though it is literally just steps away from the Trevi fountain and is in a great location, walking distance to many attractions. The balcony/garden was also great, it makes you feel like you're outside of the city.

A beautiful apartment in possible the best location for a family holiday to Rome, central to all the main attractions and 1 minute walk to the Trevi Fountain. Lots of nice restaurants close by, plus a supermarket, McDs and KFC for those with families and young children.

A lovely hotel in a good location for walking to various sights. 8 mins from the Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps. The room was small but nicely decorated with a comfortable bed. It was good value for money. The complimentary bottle of Prosecco in our room was a lovely surprise! 🥂

Hotel is very clean. Staff is friendly. Location is perfect: rail station 10 min, metro 2 min, Trevi Fountain 15 min, Pantheon 20 min, Spanish steps 20 min. All this is walking distance. Outside the hotel you have 7 places to eat. I throughly recommend it.

Location was perfect. Metro station was a 5 min walk and the bus stop was outside the apartment. Lots of shops and restaurants around the apartment. Everything is walking distance: Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Spanish Steps, Piazza Navona. The staff were amazing at checking us in and providing information on how to get around and suggesting restaurants. The apartment was spacious and beautiful and the host provided complimentary snacks and drinks. I would recommend this property to anyone wanting to stay in Rome.

Couldn't have asked for a better place. Roberta is an excellent host who goes above and beyond. The apartment is furnished fully with all what you could need with great interior design. Very spacious. Will definitely rebook if visiting Rome again. It's walking distance to many of the sites we wanted to see plus you cant beat early morning access to Trevi Fountain that is a minute walk away.

Rome has lots of lovely romantic spots such as the Trevi Fountain which is stunning for a romantic stroll at night time. There are lots of romantic restaurants dotted around too and if you really want to take romantic to a new level then I recommend visiting the Mirabelle restaurant - a rooftop restaurant with a terrace overlooking Rome. It is very pricey but it is stunning.
