The most beautiful and hospitable hotel ived visited globally , food excellent, staff superb , rooms clean . Food again I cannot rate highly enough. This hotel screams old English etiquette with a modern touch . Really one of the best hotels and I highly recommend. We are used to luxury in Dubai and this hotels service and the hotel its self didn’t disappoint!

We would give 15 out of 10 if it is possible. Place is very nice, clean, comfortable. We were group of 5 and used 2 rooms, both were great. Young couple who runs this place are very nice, helpful. We also had breakfast in guest house and it was fresh and tasty. View from the house is something special. House is out of center but with tuk tuk you will need no more than 5 minutes. We slept very good due to fresh air and calmness.

We had a truly wonderful stay at Croft Cottage! The property is a stunning British-style 3-storey villa, beautifully designed and immaculately maintained. The location is excellent, making it both peaceful and convenient. The cottage has lovely common areas that make it feel warm and inviting, perfect for relaxing together. All facilities are top-notch, thoughtfully provided, and everything worked seamlessly. A special mention and heartfelt thanks to Taranga, the housekeeper, who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable in every way. His attention to detail, hospitality, and genuine care made the experience exceptional — he truly elevated our time here. Overall, Croft Cottage is the perfect blend of charm, comfort, and luxury. Highly recommended, and we would absolutely love to return!

Upon arrival we were greeted by name and received a cup of tea with the check in process fast and efficient. Suraj and Gaming were always available to help with anything we needed, likewise Yaso was our butler who was always on hand to provide water, towels etc to our room. The food was incredible, something you would expect of a 5 star hotel in London. Pushparaj the chef at the Westbury put together a wonderful festive 4 course Christmas dinner in the dining room. The service was excellent! We missed breakfast as we wanted to lie in one morning & the staff brought the breakfast to our room (waffles, pancakes, eggs, fruit) similarly if we wanted to take the pastries away they would box them up for us.

    I understand that this is a man made lake. A nice n easy stroll by the side of the lake with plenty of small shops at one side selling drinks n snacks. Different type of boat rides are offered to visitors to the lake or just take a leisurely stroll by the side, your choice.

    If you get up early you can see the hills reflected in...

    If you get up early you can see the hills reflected in glassy water - but after about 8.30am it all gets churned up by motor boats and jet skis racing up and down as Sri Lankan families enjoy their days out. You can walk around the lake but keep your initial entry ticket as you have to pass through repeat entrances and may get charged multiple times.

    Very good place, a short walk from Gregory lake and some tea gardens nearby. Dulani the owner there was very sweet. Nice wooden bunk beds, quite comfortable. They served delicious breakfast too. Nanu Oya train station about 4-5 km, you can get a bus easily from a nearby junction about 800 metres from the hostel. Would highly recommend!

    We had a wonderful experience at the London Eye Hotel. This brand-new property is conveniently located just a short distance from Gregory Lake, making it an ideal spot for both relaxation and sightseeing. The staff were exceptional—warm, attentive, and professional throughout our stay. The food was absolutely delicious, exceeding our expectations. Overall, we truly enjoyed our time here and felt it offered great value for the price. We would definitely return for our next visit!

    The view is amazing, peaceful location and the staff are always available to help if need be. The hotel is about a 15 minutes walk to town and 5 minutes from Gregory lake, we particularly enjoyed the quiet location. The breakfast was good and delivered to the room each morning, eggs, omelette, bread, fruit and tea. We had an apartment with 2 rooms, perfect for our family of 4 and plenty of space.

    Staff were all exceptionally professional, pleasant and attentive. Everywhere was very clean, despite the weather outside, the hotel had a warm homely feeling, nice cosy longe and bar areas. Nice location just outside town , if weather better could have explored the forest and not too far to walk to Gregory lake approx 1km or so.

    The hotel was really worth the price paid. Location at an easily accessible area close to the town and other cites such as Gregory lake, moon plains etc. The food was exceptional and the rooms were clean with heaters. Hot water was available at all times during the day.

    I had a pleasant stay at Grand Lake Cabin. The staff were exceptionally friendly and polite, making me feel genuinely welcome throughout. The hotel offers a charming boutique experience with a lovely view of Gregory Lake. My split-level room was spacious enough for four people and thoughtfully included a toilet on the upper floor, adding convenience. Overall, it met my needs and the warm hospitality made the stay all the more enjoyable.

    The hotel is brilliant with a stunning view of gregory lake which is at a walking distance. Make sure to book the "Ambrose" or "Lavish" room for the best view . Samuel, lahiru and Raja helped us throughout our stay with all the requests.
