Go early in the morning, if possibly choose the 4 hour safari as this gives you time to really appreciate the landscape. We did two mornings and that was just perfect. On the second day we watched a crocodile try and steal a herons fish. We took our time and had a brilliant guide. Make sure you get a good experienced guide who will show you all over the park - a 7 hour trip is more likely to find leopards and will take you off the beaten track and away from the many other jeep tours. For a more than a fair price you get SUPER clean rooms (travelled with family) and Gayan is a really great safari driver, knows all the spots and how to get everywhere first. Hotel is 1 min drive from the entrance of Udawalawe National Park. The breakfast prepared for the trip was delicious, nicely balanced.
