Property was very clean with easy access to everything. All the staff were very professional and helpful. Specially Mr. Hessun who works on the 6th floor at the restaurant was extremely helpful and very professional. He went out of his way to make everyone feel comfortable and came around to check on everyone. He made everyone in the restaurant feel like they were family. He truly made our stay in the hotel extra special.

I really enjoyed my stay; the room was fantastic with a unique see-through glass feature. The location was convenient, just a 5-minute walk to the mosque. The food was enjoyable, especially the fried pancake dish I tried.

Staying at Tria comes with all the benefits of staying in a city center and the added value of being in a small one way street where the noise of busy Istanbul doesn’t make itself heard. But this is not the best. The best of Tria is the staff. The restless effort to assist in any situation, no words can accurately describe the attention, care and support they have provided when my documents got lost. The phone calls, the time put into it, the pro activity of the whole team is really something remarkable and rare. It will be my home in Istanbul. That’s a given. To all of the staff there, my heartfelt Thank you. You are incredible.

Hagia Sophia

In 537 AD, Hagia Sophia began life as a church, before becoming an Ottoman mosque in 1453. The largest cathedral in the world for almost a thousand years, this majestic building is considered one of the finest surviving examples of Byzantine architecture. Today, you can go inside and explore both the colossal structure as well as its museum.

Very old and full of history it has had many different lives & purposes over the centuries. Some of the paintings on the walls are still visible & tell a story. Did a guided tour and it was definitely worth it.

Queues, Queues and more queues. But worth it. Do not bother with the AR experience which costs an extra 1250 TL (£25) each. The entrance is roughly £25 to get in if you buy it at the ticket office, make sure you ask for the basic tour otherwise they include the AR experience as a default. Amazing mosaics and beautiful architecture.

This greekorthodox monument, one of the greatest for the christianity worldwide, is questionably managed by the modern Turkish state, after it was recently converted to a mosque (since there are so many of them, I really wonder why) The entrance for the tourists is allowed only at the 2nd floor, missing that way, an amazing perspective of this exceptional temple, that you can have only from the ground floor. You simply get half the pleasure! At least, you can have a glance of the unique mosaics covered by white pieces of cloth, due to religious restrictions. Anyway, don't miss it!

Sadly tourists can only go around the upper level.

Sadly tourists can only go around the upper level. Previously you could get in on the ground floor and experience the wonderful open space of the huge dome above you. It is still possible to see some of the dome and the structure is very interesting but a slight disappointment. However , it is an amazing old structure. Small number of mosaics still visible. Better and more extensive mosaics at the Kariye Camii if mosaics are of interest.

This was the most incredible part of Istanbul.

This was the most incredible part of Istanbul. Again ensure proper attire or you have to pay for covering. The interplay of Christianity and the Muslim faith, and neither chose to desicrate the other. Just be aware that you will only be able to visit the upper section unless you're a practising muslim.

Its a pity that such an UNESCO monument was turned into a Muslim Cami. And it is discrimination that all non Muslims cannot visit the whole area. As a Greek and orthodox I felt very sorry of the destructions of all the inside ( almost). This should be a museum open for all ,independent on their beliefs. Civilization is not looking into beliefs. Should be respected within centuries.

The Aprilis Gold Hotel was awesome. The entire staff made us feel so welcome and cared for. They were so helpful and arranging transportation to the airport, Hamam and massage experiences, as well as an evening dinner cruise with entertainment on the Bosporus. Hotel is within comfortable walking distance to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, and so much historical sites.

Hotel Fehmi Bey has a perfect location – just a short walk from all the main historical sites like the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. The breakfast, served on the top floor with a stunning view of the Blue Mosque, was delicious and varied every morning. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The only small thing to note is that the bathrooms, especially the showers, could use a little renovation, as they look a bit dated. Overall, a very pleasant and memorable stay – highly recommended!

The hotel is conveniently located close to a tram station and easy to go to most touristy places like Hagia Sophia, The Blue Mosque and The Grand Bazaar. A clean hotel with wonderful employees. The ladies who served breakfast were very nice and attentive and also the gentleman at the front desk who upon request he changed our room with a bigger one. Like most hotels in that part of the city it’s not big and a little dated but it has character. Overall it offered a good experience and good value for the money.

The room was clean and well decorated. The staff was excellent. Handled questions and concerns without hesitation. Talked with the owner during a marvelous breakfast on the top level that overlooked the river. She spoke English and chatted with us for quite awhile, wanting to know how we were doing, where we from and was very proud of her facility. We could walk to the major both the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia as well as the bazaars. I would return to this hotel when coming back to Istanbul.
