Great location to silent beach and another nice beach close by. Nice to have cooking facilities. Clean and good facilities. Caretaker was very friendly and helpful and gave us lots of good advice as to where to go.

Rock Violet, and it’s a real oasis of peace! The garden by the river is beautiful, with lush greenery and roaming peacocks, and it's just a short walk to the beach. The Taste of Ceylon restaurant serves amazing, authentic food, and the staff is super friendly. It's also a great spot for families to relax and have fun. Highly recommend!

We had an amazing stay at these cabanas. The host family was wonderful and incredibly helpful. They cooked us a delicious christmas dinner. They even decorated a Christmas tree for us. Served excellent breakfasts, and even provided transportation with their own car. It was about a 5 minute walk to the beach. Highly recommend!

Ajantha's place is a truly special find. He has only just reopened, hence the lack of reviews showing online. But it really is an amazing place to stay. There is only one chalet, which is very private and spacious. The chalet is surrounded by a tropical garden and has Aloe Vera Garden Restaurant next to it. The restaurant serves delicious food - I recommend the chicken soup (freshly made for each order with lots of veggies). The staff there are friendly, too. The chalet includes a double bed plus a large singled bed. Both of which have mosquito nets all around them. There is also a private terrace to chill out on. I loved the little details, like the pretty shapes made in the bedsheets and welcoming us with a coconut when we arrived! The place was very clean and we had fresh towels and sheets. Ajantha was there for us if we needed anything (like picking up big 5 litre water bottles from the shop) while also giving us our privacy.

With river views, Hideaway Lodge is located in Tangalle and has a restaurant, a shared lounge, bar, garden, year-round outdoor pool and terrace.

Most amazing accomodation of our entire Sri Lanka trip! Beautiful view over the lagoon from the balcony of our cabana. The owner and staff are incredible. Definitely ask for the Sri Lankan breakfast:)

One of a kind place to stay! This place is hidden and just coming here you will feel like you are at the end of the world, saw lots of animals :) When I arrived they welcomed me with a coconut and showed me around:) I was relaxing on the deck for only 5 minutes and then monkey arrived:) The host was very kind and helpful, he helped me and dropped me off at the bus station as well. Really enjoyed meeting the hosts uncle as well, very lovely family! Thank you so much I really enjoyed my time here

Overall, our stay at the Star Beach Hotel was fantastic, great value for money. The property is owned and managed by a local family which added a personal touch to our experience, as they were incredibly sweet and friendly. The location right next to the beach was perfect, and we enjoyed waking up to the sound of the waves. The highlight of our stay was definitely the delicious omelettes served for breakfast - they were mouth-watering! I would only make one small suggestion for improvement: it would be great if an insect repellent could be provided in the rooms It was also a lovely surprise to see our room decorated with balloons and a cute message, as my husband had informed the property that it was our honeymoon. Additionally, the welcome snack provided by the host was a nice touch and made us feel extra special. Overall, we had a wonderful stay at the Star Beach Hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing beachside getaway with a personal touch and good value for money. Thank you to the family for making our stay so memorable!

I had the most wonderful stay at Taragala Chalets. Saman was so kind and looked after me so well. I felt very privileged to stay in such a beautiful place and see amazing birds in the garden and in the wetland nature reserve beside it. Nothing was too much trouble for Saman and he took me around and showed me the lovely village, the beach and Taragala Rock. The food was amazing. It was the highlight of my trip. I have very happy memories and hope to be back one day.

We had a great time staying here. What we didn't realize beforehand is that there are two rooms with large beds, so this is great for a family as well as solo travelers or couples. As others have said, having the kitchen was a nice plus. Overall, there was a lot of space and Isuru was a very kind and generous host. We especially liked how clean and newly done the bathroom was. The food provided everyday was great and he was always there to answer any questions and help us. Highly recommend!
