Kandalama Heritance is a 20-minute drive from UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the 2,000-year-old cave temple at Dambulla and the Sigiriya rock fortress. The 5-star hotel is a 3.5-hour drive from the airport. It's a fascinating building wonderfully situated right in the heart of the jungle, with plants growing over it. Marvellous views over the nearby lake, just slightly spoiled by the fact that a drought had left it nearly empty. Service was superb with tremendous attention to detail. I enjoyed the meals, both the buffet breakfast and dinner, each of which provided a very wide choice. The rooms are very comfortable and spotlessly clean. A memorable place to stay.

There are plenty of options to spend extended time on-site, whether you want to enjoy the tranquility of nature or use the facilities like the gym, pool, or snooker table. We only wish we could have stayed more nights

A mix of oriental and western breakfast options. The staff was super friendly and helpful There was some confusion about the beds for the children but that was also quickly resolved The swimming pool is huge and more than welcome after visiting the temples. We could have stayed much longer

Featuring garden views, Isanka Lion Lodge in Sigiriya features accommodation, an outdoor swimming pool, a garden, a shared lounge, a terrace and a restaurant. The lodge features both WiFi and private parking free of charge. Our stay here was fantastic! Room was clean, comfortable beds and breakfast was delicious. But above all it was Anil and his lovely family that made our stay perfect. Incredibly kind and helpful with planning our trips and driving us everywhere by tuktuk. Be sure to have dinner at the lodge at least once during your stay, it was the best!
