Check in was a little different from most motels/hotels, but called the number, and they opened up and let me in, then gave me an access card. They let me check in early as the room was ready, and they are also one of the few hotels that I have stayed in that read the request for fresh milk, and they had it in the fridge for me, it was very much appreciated.

Great view, lovely and helpful staff, easy to get in and out of for expeditions. Room was quiet enough but we seemed to have a stomper above us, which sometimes can't be helped. Room was well appointed and clean, very comfy! Would definitely stay again. If you don't have a car, there is a free shuttle service to and from town.

An amazing experience all round. The castle and its' sad history, a story well told over our guests-only dinner at the long dining table. The views are majestic, and the castle interior is maintained to a very high level of cleanliness. in tribute to the value placed on this icon of Dunedin by the current owners.

Peppers has always been a fovorite of ours since the Apartments are comfortable, self contained and have a lovely view of Lake Wakatipu. On this occasion I made a mistake in the booking and we ended up in a hotel room - nothing wrong with the hotel room but wasn'e 'our usual'. The reception staff went out of their way to work out a solution that resulted in us ending up in an apartment with all the attributes that we cherish. The reception went above and beyond!

Our hostess was extremely helpful & we truly enjoyed our stay! We felt right at home! She made sure we had an early morning before our early whale watching expedition too.

The place was ok but failed to inform us that there was major road works taking place each night ( 2000- 0500) directly ou side our room during the nights we were staying there which contributed to lack of sleep.

Very quiet and relaxing. Although we arrived late, there was no problem with checking in and we sorted out the registration in the morning

Roomy. I can’t stand the ( how tiny can I make the rooms style architecture )of new hotels!
