First of all, the location is near Kyoto station, probably 5-minute walk from train station. Secondly, all the shops you want are around the hotel, such as convenience stores, shopping malls and restaurants. Moreover, the bus stop is not far away so that you are able to take bus to any attractions in Kyoto city. Finally, there is a nice and clean public restroom on the top of the building. In conclusion, I highly recommend ALA HOTEL KYOTO to everyone and I will definitely stay with the hotel again.

Our room was big and nice. Very much recommended!

This 4-star ryokan offers a lift and free shuttle service. There is a restaurant serving Japanese cuisine, and free private parking is available. Worth every cent! What an experience! I wasn't sure at first (as I had the whole responsibility on me to decide for the group I was with) and if you're on a budget like we were, well this is a spend ..BUT..so happy I booked Ryokan Sumiya Kihon. As a tattooed group we had to rent private. It was hilarious to be butt naked with your best friends and ridiculously relaxing. The food is delicious. Breakfast= huge but Dinner = a little small for our crew. (Spanish/Australian mix). It's fine. Just bring snacks ;).

I stayed in a 4th floor room with private onsen. The room was very clean, and had all the features I could need. The room was very spacious, had a great view of the mountains, and the private onsen was so relaxing. All of the staff I interacted with were very helpful and always so friendly. The breakfast offered every morning was a different kaiseki and featured a variety of dishes and tastes. The location of the hotel is close to many shopping malls, a walking distance from Gion, and accessible to transit (bus & subway). Everything about my stay was wonderful!

It is set 1.8 km from Mother and Child of Prince Shotoku Statue and offers free shuttle service. The ryokan has a hot spring bath and a lift. The room was super spacious, with a separate tatami room. It even had a genkan. Breakfast was a feast, with a view. The bath, particularly on the 4th floor, had a great view of the sea from above. Plenty of parking available. The guy at the reception who checked us in was fun and friendly, and spoke good English.

This 3-star ryokan offers a lift and free shuttle service. The property offers allergy-free units and is situated 14 km from Keirin-ji Temple. My goodness, what a beautiful spot to stay. Everything was top notch, from the shuttle, to the staff, to the rooms, meals and amenities! I was a welcomed change of pace from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo and area. The food prepared at dinner was almost too beautiful to eat, not to mention delicious! We had a private Onsen on our balcony and it was worth the extra money to be able to use it at our leisure. I cannot say enough about it. If given the opportunity, stay here, you won’t be disappointed!!
