If you want to spend time in the mountains, watch starry sky and Milky Way at night and have all comforts of civilization - this is the place. Cottages are located in a small quiet village on a mountain slope, no other touristic properties nearby. Perfect for stay on your way to Upper Svaneti and for longer digital detox vacation. The place is owned by local family, the owner is very friendly and attentive to details, and speaks English and Russian. Everything about interior is perfectly comfy and organized, from matress and pillows to convenient position of sockets. Food is delicious, you can ask for breakfast, lunch and dinner, both Georgian or simple European dishes. Internet connection (wi-fi and cell) sometimes goes weak, but this is normal for such a secluded mountain spot, and for us was not a problem, because we wanted to switch off.

The guesthouse’s location is superb, next to the church and the start of the hiking trail to Shkhara glacier. The village’s panorama viewpoint is just 3 minutes walk away, and you can be there easily in the early morning before the tourists arrive. The rooms are clean with stupendous views and en suite bathroom. Mamuka’s mother is a whiz in the kitchen: we booked dinner and breakfast with her during our 2 night stay and every meal was delicious. Home-made jams, milk from the family cows, produce from their garden and so on. Mamuka was also very responsive and helpful with advice and booking of transfer vehicle, and we learnt a lot about life in the mountains.

I was truly and pleasantly surprised. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable. I felt like I was staying with family. The lady-owner makes breakfast, and it's delicious. Her husband is a man with a heart of gold and many qualities, but he doesn't know how to prepare you a tasty breakfast ask for lady's assistance instead 😄

Everything was good. The host was always in touch. They were ready to help. Huge windows with the view on the towers. Coffee, tea and the amazing Svaneti salt were provided. You can find everything what you need in the kitchen (you can cook there but bring the food from Mestia because it's hard to find a shop there) and in the bathroom. We loved to stay there. Thanks!

We loved every second of our stay in Ushguli Cabins. The cabin is perfect for a couple and is very neat and the room is so beautiful. The view from the window is mesmerizing with vistas of Shkhara mountain - tallest in Georgia! Sipping coffee in the morning and having a glass of wine in the evening, looking at the gorgeous mountains was a treat. Anna is a very nice host and answered all our questions. We got confused with the location to reach by car, Anna's MIL was kind enough to accompany me in the car to show us the way from the main road. Thanks a lot for that. We even had dinner at Anna's place, she was kind enough to cook us all vegetarian meal and the dinner was good. Her daughter accompanied us and kept us entertained. Ushguli is a beautiful and rustic village and staying in the cabin and exploring the village - I couldn't have asked for more. Highly recommended stay. (Driving Mestia - Ushguli - Kutaisi is one of the best drives in Georgia and the road is 80% done)
