We had a wonderful stay at Kumarakom Wood Castle! The breakfast was by far the best we had during 2 weeks travelling through Kerala. The owner and his wife makes for a dynamic team who are professional and very helpful with arranging taxi's, House boat stays and interesting places to visit. The property is a beautiful traditional wooden Kerala house with many interesting features like an antique shop and an amazing museum on the top floor! This is a must visit. We arrived as strangers but left as friends. Thank you for giving us the best Kerala experience.

If I could give this place 10 stars I would! The location and hospitality are tied for first place in my heart. They brought me fresh chai upon arrival, offered to let me borrow a bicycle to cycle around the canals, helped me to book a boat ride at sunrise, and provided me with the perfect place to unwind and relax. The AC is a wonderful bonus! I’ll be back. Thank you for the best time on the backwaters!

Wonderful experience! The property is gorgeous and tranquil. It is far from the town of Alleppey, which meant we had to travel by tuk tuk to get anywhere (like to a kayaking trip), but the position allowe for it to be peaceful, have a remote feeling, and not be full of mosquitoes! The food was excellent, particularly the breakfast buffet, which was also very affordable. The service was also incredible. The staff was very kind and attentive. Most of all, we loved the amenities, like the pool, badminton court, and gym. We are a couple and enjoyed it very much, but saw lots of families enjoying their experiences too. Highly recommend! Thank you!

It is a very nice property. Well maintained, green, on the lake but no boat traffic to disturb the peace of the place, just the hotel boat. Nice facility, pottery, bike, fishing. Nice room. Some have a private pool some a big jacuzzi in the room. The massage is fantastic- a must to try.

We had the most wonderful stay at BirdScapes Homestay. We were warmly welcomed by Abin and his family, who cooked great meals for us and took us on boat trips.
