A house with a fantastic atmosphere, lots of space, comfortable furniture and very good bathroom and kitchen facilities. Aircon in all rooms and the pictures gives an accurate impression of the place. The garden is small but charming and offers enough space for outdoor relaxation. The services offered and the communication with the owner was outstanding and based on our needs, helping out with everything from local taxi to bike rental.

I had a single room that was efficiently laid out. I appreciated the fan in the bathroom. The soap, shampoo, and conditioner were effective, easy to rinse off, and without a cloying, heavy perfume. The "cold box" appeared to need ice on one side and food on the other side. The pillows were comfortable. The staff were great at finding the perfect location for my room. I smoke and asked to be situated near a smoking "booth" - a small room with good airflow, ashtrays, and closed off so the smoke doesn`t get into the hallway. They put me across the hall from one of these rooms. All rooms are non-smoking, so I was glad to have convenient access to one of these special rooms. They are located on several floors. While smoking is frowned upon by most people, it is nice to know that smokers have a place to go and the smoke will not bother anyone else. Although I can speak a little Japanese, they quickly located a bilingual staff member to make communication easy. He even offered me his personal phone number in case of problems after he left (I thanked him but didn`t take it, as I think people should not be expected to work outside of their planned schedule). The rest of the staff used translation apps. The breakfast was incredible. It was a buffet with a wide range of food: I had salad, yogurt, dessert, bacon, eggs, miso soup, rice, curry, steamed dumplings, salmon, mackerel, fruit salad, and a variety of casseroles. The pork/tomato sauce/cheese casserole was especially tasty. This is only what I sampled - I avoid carbs and there were several containers with bread and similar items. Both times I had breakfast, I didn`t feel hungry again until dinnertime. I needed business documents completed and chose to do this at a quiet time the night before I left rather than at checkout time when the staff would be busy. They were surprised but completed the special forms at my request. The staff were cheerful and helpful.

very well maintained, the place is probably very well insulated, as there only 3 air conditioners blasting hot air in the big house, yet we didn’t feel chilly at all. The staff were extremely helpful and we felt very welcome. Hattori-san also offered great suggestions for food and helped us order sushi from the nearby sushi restaurant when I told her we did not have a local number. The highlight was the Japanese style breakfast which was prepared at the house we were staying by two lovely chefs, in the morning. it was a such a spread and we thoroughly enjoyed it!

The treatment was amazing as soon as I got there, everything was done for me from taking my luggage to giving me a towel to dry myself from the rain. They offer to pick you up from the station and take you there after. The hotel room was perfect. The private onsen was the star of the show, I used so many times during a typhoon, I left a new relaxed man. They bring food to your room in the evening, traditional japanese ryokan food. I wish I could move in. 10/10 will stay for a month.

Shiro and Claire are super friendly and made us feel at home. It was a privilege to stay at their 1910 built Japanese traditional farmer’s house that gave us a great experience of Japanese country living.

This place is just amazing, and the host was extremely friendly and helpful. He also prepared a very delicious meal. It was the best stay, and we had really nice conversations and learned a lot about Japan. We surely recommend it!!!!

Beautiful location, food and drinks were superb and the staff were lovely.
