The location is perfect and is closest to Zengoji. Shops and restaurants are only steps away from the ryokan. The owner and his family are very friendly and welcoming. The staff are helpful and sincere. The Kendai breakfast and dinner are made with quality food and nicely presented. Beds are also thoughtfully prepared for us while we were having dinner. We were given a big Shinshu apple as a gift during check out which is very heartwarming. Loved it!! Thank you ^^

Fantastic hosts, so accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. They literally drove us to the slopes every day and picked us up. They even drove us to Nagano to catch the train back to Tokyo at the end of our stay. The accommodation has been decorated and furnished to a very high standard and is super modern. To get the best from this property, get stuck in and meet the other guests, it's such a relaxed, fun atmosphere. Noise levels drop by 10pm to ensure a peaceful night sleep and the breakfast/ food it's awesome. Thanks for the fabulous welcome to all the staff at Dark Horse.
