Kasbah Maktob it one of the best place we staid in Marocco, the house itself it's a jewel that is crafted in the details by his host (and artist) Mustafa. The view on the valley is restoring and the surrounding is stunning .The ancient Kasbah, which the hotel is part of, definitely worth a visit and a walk through. We found the location ideal to visit the Draa valley and Mustafa simply a great host who takes the time to introduce to his culture and makes you feel welcoming (also easy to communicate with in English) Honestly if you have the chance book this place it would add memories and value to your journey!

This place is beautiful. The grounds are green and peaceful, the room was warm, spotlessly clean and comfortable and the food was delicious. The building itself is also breathtaking. Went for a Hamam and massage which was a great experience. The massage in particular was fantastic, thank you! The location allows for strolls through the palm trees and around the ksar next door. Could happily spend a good few days here, sadly we only had time for one!

The heater in the room was comfortable. We where reading book Infront of the heater. Bed is good. Beautiful garden. The dinner we had was something different than the normal Tajine we had the weeks before (-:

Staying in this unique apartment within a deserted Ksar was an unforgettable experience. The setting is incredibly peaceful, with breathtaking views over the palm forest and lush green oasis. It’s the perfect place to disconnect and take in the beauty of the surroundings, with plenty to explore nearby. Ismael, the local host, made our stay even more special—generous with his time, knowledge, and local treats. We especially loved our walk through the garden with him—it was beautiful and full of stories. The only downside for us was the bed—being tall, we found it quite small and not ideal for a comfortable night’s sleep. If that’s a priority for you, just something to keep in mind. Still, the charm, authenticity, and peacefulness of the place made it all worth it!

this place feels really authentic. wonderful views, fully immersed in the palms surrounding the ancient ksar. the rooftop has great views on the mountains. the rooms are clean and comfortable.

It's an absolutely amazing place! The rooms are really nice and the garden is amazing! The staff is very friendly and welcoming - you really feel at home there. warm welcome by the host with welcome tea, warm rooms. nice dinner and breakfast. They arranged a good guide , Abdiraman, who took us for an interesting walk through the palmeraie and its irrigation system. the effects of climate change are clear......no water in the river Draa. I used to swim here in this time of the year on the eighties and ninetees. dying palms and other trees. diminished agriculture. but still a very interesting place to wander around. see the old glaoui kashba as well. stunning.

Dar Sofar is like an Oasis - we stopped here spontaneously and stayed only one night, but we could have easily stayed longer. Beautiful outside area with a pool and lush green plants. The room had everything we needed. Pierre, the host, was very friendly and helpful and shared some interesting stories and information about the area with us. We can 100% recommend and would stay at Dar Sofar again next time.
