We especially liked the original plank floors. Lunch on the edge of the river was one of our best meals ever. We could have spent several days enjoying the park. If you're biking the Loire River trail (like us) this is a must stay. You haven't fully experienced France if you haven't stayed at Le Relais de Mantelot.

They were welcoming to dogs, and because of our lack of planning, they graciously allowed us to join a delectable evening meal that was being prepared for other couple who were also guests. Everything was excellent, and we'd recommend to anyone making the drive between the north and the south of France. We wished that we spoke more French to be able to communicate better with the host parents who live on the property and who welcomed us and prepared the meals. That said, our lack of French in no way impeded our ability to coordinate.

Nice breakfast and deliciously home coocked dinner by the owner, Claire. Her husband Thierry organises the use of local/regional products - You can buy regional wines and beers in the lounge/terrace. We stayed 3 nights and did “velo-tours” along the Loire. Staff is very welcoming and make you feel at home from the first moment. Highly recommended!!
