The food was amazing. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Epic little pub in a lovely area, definitely worth the small detour. A great spot to spend the night to break up the journey. This was hands down the best accommodation experience we've had in the UK so far.

We have just returned from a magical 2 night stay at Chillingham East Lodge - it wasn't long enough!! Such a quirky, beautiful, comfortable,peaceful place to stay, and the setting is amazing. Next to an ancient church, at the edge of the castle grounds, with beautiful Northumbrian countryside at our doorstep. My husband and I were visiting from New Zealand with my UK sister and her husband. We enjoyed seeing bats, squirrels and herons, and listening to owls at nightime. We loved the castle and gardens and enjoyed a tasty lunch in the castle cafe in a beautiful medieval setting. Max, our host, couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. I definitely recommend this charming abode.

Everything was wonderful. The room had everything we needed, including an iron, ironing board and standing mirror. The breakfast was fantastic. I really like eggs benedict, but usually I hesitate to order it because I only eat well done eggs and other restaurants never seem to make them well done (even if I ask). However, the restaurant at Doxford Hall managed to make the perfect well done eggs benedict and I was so pleased! The spa facilities were great and never felt overcrowded.

Had an issue with the key and Paul came very very quickly to sort us out. King size bed, ahhhhh. Lovely bottle of wine on our arrival. Excellent service and friendliness of all the staff. This is an amazing complex, Spa, Wedding venue, cottages, best Pub, The Apple Inn. Do make a reservation if you want to dine there, it's very popular.

    This is our second stay at the Tankerville Arms and it won’t be our last ! The owners are super friendly, the lovely staff can’t do enough for you, the food especially breakfast is fantastic and the rooms and facilities are wonderful, but the best bit is we can bring our dogs. Lovely location with beautiful beaches a short drive away.

    The decor was lovely. The way the food was presented. The quality of the food was high. Extremely dog friendly. The staff and the owners were really friendly and helpful. Great beer garden at the back fenced in so dogs can't get out and looking onto fields.

    Wonderful pub, boutique style bedroom & facilities. Owners extremely welcoming and friendly and staff were excellent, nothing was ever too much trouble. Lovely to find a quality accommodation that is dog friendly. Food exceptional!! Would 100 % stay here again.

    the staff were exceptional, helpful and welcoming , very-dog friendly - food was-good value and large portions , hot and so delicious. They even catered for our 2 daschunds! Extra touches in the room - fridge , fan ,torches for late night dog toilet times and towels for muddy paws. spotlessly clean and bed like a dream.
