Pet-friendly hotels and homes in Kumarakom

We had the most wonderful stay at BirdScapes Homestay. We were warmly welcomed by Abin and his family, who cooked great meals for us and took us on boat trips. The room is very confortable and has a nice view on the backwaters. We are grateful to have had the chance to stay here for two nights and strongly recommend!

Hotel was very nice. Location was perfect. Restaurants were good. Personal very helpful and friendly especially Vinush at the pool.

The place was wonderful. Very peaceful and green with great lake views. Food was excellent and varied. Main contact was via whatsapp (very swift responses), even before the stay. However, the friendly manager also came to see us and check if there was anything we needed. Food needs to be pre-ordered but everything is fresh (many things from their own garden). It was pretty hot but the AC and fan (also outside) were working well. We spent a lot of time reading outside in front of our cabin.

As we travelled with our pets, it was really convenient for us. The stay had a beautiful garden and the property is right opposite the backwaters. It's a beautiful view. Property is filled with nature and greenery. It is very calming and peaceful. Yes, it is a little tricky to get to the property but totally worth it.

You need some form of transportation to get around. Other than that the owners are super friendly, you can order food. The garden is super nice and the whole backwaters area is really pretty. I recommend checking out the bird sanctuary very early in the morning. He also offer to use the boat for 1000rupees/hr

I booked this stay for my parents, and they had a wonderful time and a truly refreshing experience. The host was very friendly and always ready to help, and the location is absolutely breathtaking with stunning sunrises and beautiful views from the room. The stay was clean, comfortable, and peaceful perfect for a relaxing getaway. The food served was delicious and authentic, giving a real taste of the local cuisine. The people around were warm and welcoming, adding to the charm of the experience. If you have any doubts about reaching the place, the host is very supportive and responsive. The best homestay, if you are coming to Alleppey and want to enjoy tasty Kerala food, budget friendly, experience true hospitality, with the opportunity to make wonderful friends and in a great location just 2 minutes walk from the beach then Venitia Homestay is the right choice. There is the option of Fan or AC, we chose fan. The rooms are spacious, comfortable bed, and drinking water/glasses provided. The shower pressure is good, towels are provided and the windows in bedroom open fully to allow good air circulation if needed. The first visit, (we stayed here 3 times in total), we extended our trip and stayed for 8 nights and the bed linen/towels were changed without even asking. There is space to relax here, on the balcony, interacting with the family or even up to the rooftop to admire the stars at night. The family are so lovely, their hospitality is 5* and it feels like a home away from home. Jeeja's cooking is so good, we ate nearly all our meals here, some at the family dining area downstairs and some upstairs near our room, vegetarian/meat/fish/spicy/not spicy she is very accommodating and for myself just a little sugar in the best masala chai in Kerala 😊 Jeeja the Masala Chai Queen ☺️ If they could help us in any way they did so, they went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable, to look after us and arrange trips/recommend places to visit. We even did some exploring with Aakash, went to the cinema together, and enjoyed many conversations with all the family. Staying with this kind, caring, friendly and fun family has been a true highlight of my visit to Kerala, and I look forward to visiting them again next time I return to Kerala. I recommend sunrise kayaking, the budget friendly Vega government boat trip, KSRTC Gavi trip, the beach near by, and generally just exploring the area.
