Before our arrival we ran into roadblocks and arrived at the place at 23.30 hrs. Check in slot had already passed but the owner waited for us. Next day he helped us with our desert trip. They also helped us qith booking transport. We left early in de morning but they already had made us coffee. They made sure that the bus stopped at their place for us to board. Such nice people!

We arrived quite late but got still welcomed with a freshly made lemonade (which was so delicious!) and she even got up at 4:30 in the morning to prepare us breakfast because we wanted to see the sunrise. You will immediately feel at home there and the rooms are clean and big enough and you geg a very nice back yard and pick ups right at the house. I would defenetly recommend this place if you want to see the tatacoa desert.

I also liked that the property is a little more isolated than some others, they were kind enough to turn off the lights so we could view the starry sky. Breakfast was delicious.

We intended to stay at the Cosmos Tatacoa for two nights just to visit the desert, but ended up staying one more, because there is lots do and we felt right at home. The hotel is located on the way to the desert, so it's remote and quiet, but still just a few minutes walk into the town for the restaurants and other amenities. It has a beautiful clean pool, perfect to cool down after an activity in the sun. We've also enjoyed many different options for breakfast. The staff went above and beyond to accomodate us, arranging an incredible tour to the desert with Schneider as well as a relaxing boat ride on the river, washing all our dirty clothes in no time (even if it's not advertised) and making sure we will get to our next destination by getting us the bus tickets and calling a taxi. Our driver, Michael Triviño, told us a lot about the region, the people and Colombia in general (also in English if desired), so if you get the chance, ask at the reception for Maik (or through booking.com if you need a Taxi from Neiva). All in all, we've had a wonderful stay in Villavieja, thanks to the Cosmos Tatacoa.

The accommodation is beautiful, imagine waking up to a desert breeze, hearing horses gallop by, listening to the sounds of birds as you lay in bed. Breakfast was delicious and accompanied by humming birds next to the table in the trees. Dinner was one of the best beefsteaks I've ever had, the portion was generous and just utterly delicious. There's a spot to charge your electronics, a gang of friendly dogs, games, lots of places to chill, a pool and lots of flowers growing all around. It's paradise! The staff went out of their way to make our trip memorable and they are just fantastic. Seriously, you cannot get a better location and a better stay in the area than this place!!!!
