The room was silent good sound isolation, we’ve stayed at the last room of the hotel corridor. The restaurant was excellent, big portions, great fresh local products, exquisite cuisine. It was the best kebab we had in Egypt. It has also beautiful views to the River. First, we came from Cairo with some stomach illness and the manager of the hotel Samir and all hotel staff did everything to make us felt better, he even went to a drugstore and bought us medicine and gave us as a gift. Thank you very Samir and Hamo, restaurant manager, your sympathy and attention made all the difference. Hamo also offered us local tea for all discomfort every day and it has helped a lot. Samir booked some transfers for us, they were all good and responsible drivers. Last, we had to leave the hotel early morning for a trip and they prepared us a breakfast box, with good variety and quality products, even boiled eggs. I don’t understand why other guests complain about it. Bottom line, I loved it and totally recommend.

Nevertheless, we were very late he was there in the middle of the night to give us a boat ride to the guesthouse and offer some water, juice and fruits. He arranged also a morning boat for us. In the afternoon when we were back from the day trip there was a lunch waiting for us with everything we agreed on the day before. We already had our day trips organized prior to arrival, but I would absolutely trust him to organize activities around Aswan.

I have travelled to nearly 60 countries and this place was one of the highlights of my travels. We left Artika Wadi Kiki with our hearts full with hopes to visit again and I cannot wait.

If you’re okay with traveling 20–30 minutes to the West Bank for your tours, and returning in the evening via a rougher road to enjoy a quieter, more peaceful atmosphere, then this is the place for you. I even walked along the Nile at night to the market and nearby restaurants—about 15 minutes—and I never once felt unsafe. The village kids are happy and playful, and the community is warm, helpful, and tightly knit. It’s clear that everyone looks out for one another, which makes you feel welcome and secure.
