- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Excellent - What previous guests thought, 684 reviewsCertainly one of the most wonderful hotels I've ever been! It's located close to the center of Izola - a car is not needed (nor recommended) to visit it. From the back entry, the Dolphin Beach is just a few steps away. It's a rocky shore, but there are several stairs into the water. The inside pool is filled with salty water, which is great. Italy is not far away, you can see Trieste across the sea. In the town, everbody seems to be able to speak Italian. The vew from the balcony is outstanding.Guest review bySven Boris SchreiberGermany

Historic Split was every bit the eye opener we hoped it would be, a modern city 5 minutes from natural beaches ideal for swimming. But the crowning aspect is the way Croatians have used their historical building to continue living in, using as restaurants, homes, apartments and flats. It was lovely to see Roman architecture being used that way.Guest review byGuyUnited Kingdom - 6.0
Dubrovnik, even in shoulder season, felt too touristy.
Dubrovnik, even in shoulder season, felt too touristy. There was no opportunity for individual interaction with local people except for those in the tourism industry. Although all people we interacted with in various tourist establishment were professional, it felt very transactional. Apart from the Old Town and a couple of islands locally, there was not much to do - you can get it all over in two days! Plus travel to Dubrovnik from Zadar was painful - 9.5 hours by bus with 37 stops! It appears that FlixBus in Dalmatia is unlike in other areas - it is more like a local bus service (although we did get fantastic views of the coastline), the bus actually had standing passengers an some prebooked customers had to stand!Guest review byParitoshUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Great city. perfect old town and most importantly the promenade was simply beautiful. Just the right level of tourists - did not feel overwhelmingly crowded. Brilliant sunsets. Well connected for local sights such as Plitvice National Park, Kornati National Park, Nin town (not to be missed).Guest review byParitoshUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Durrës is a very diverse city, with both modern buildings and unfinished construction as well as scattered trash. The seafront promenade is long and pleasant, lined with plenty of restaurants and small shops. Public transport is available and inexpensive, with a bus ticket costing 40 lek. You can also find bike rentals for exploring the city.Guest review byLiinaEstonia - 8.0

Old town was nice (smaller than Kotor, but cute). The Citadel has great views, but costs 5,50 euros to just walk up to the wall - it had two closed restaurants/cafes and nothing else to see. We didn't feel it was worth it.Guest review byEmery - 10.0

Beautiful old town, essential to take a boat trip along the bay to view the majestic mountains. The cable car is also a great activity, not only do you get a view of Kotor Bay but when you get to the top there is a lot to explore. The roads are very busy so it takes a while to get around. Essential to book a taxi before you arrive at the airport as the taxis from there are very expensive. Absolutely amazing scenery. Very busy old town as cruise liners arrive daily.Guest review byGeraldine - 10.0
The town was perfect size so walking is easy for everyone.
The town was perfect size so walking is easy for everyone. Please note the cobbled streets can be a little slippery so fancy high heeled shoes are a No-No! The local people are kind and friendly and everyone is catered for. Little tip:- book restaurants early to avoid disappointment not obtaining a reservation.Guest review byjohn allardUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The old town is interesting with the Arena, Castle and the colourful cranes. There are interesting tunnels under the castle on two levels which date from the 1st and 2nd World Wars. There are trains and buses to Roving, Pazin, Labin and the Brijuni National Park. Some good restaurants such as The Jupiter which does Pizza as well as seafood, pasta and grills.Guest review byJohnUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Trogir is a small town which can be seen very quickly. Its ancient and narrow streets are filled with cafes and shops. Very charming and fun to visit. Cobblestone streets and is very lively at night. Huge yachts are docked along the main Riva.Guest review byGeorgeUnited States
