- From $492.96 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Excellent - What previous guests thought, 482 reviewsThe hotel breakfast was excellent, plenty of quality food, for all taste. The staff was extremely polite, always asking if everything was ok, trying to satisfy all your needs. Dinner was also outstanding food quality and presentation, with discrete fine-dinning touches. Congrats to the chef! The reception staff was also very friendly, giving us all the necessary information we needed for ours stay and they were extremely efficient on the last morning when we did the check-out. As an improvement, maybe the receptionist should state it more clearly how to get to the hotel ski room without using the main entrance in the hotel. We had to figure this out by ourselves following other tourists in the hotel, but it was fun for us to find this trick that we will use next time :)Guest review byMihaiRomania
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.0Very Good - What previous guests thought, 370 reviewsWe stayed in a family suite which was clean, modern, great size room (given we had 2 children too) and very much to our taste. The food varied every night and replenished quickly. The facilities for Children are fantastic and even after hours of skiing all they wanted to do was play in the football area, ball pit or indoor play. Outdoor pool temperature was a great surprise, VERY warm and just what we needed after a days skiing. Ski room with dedicated locker to leave all the gear. Staff were friendly and approachable throughout our stay.Guest review byStevenUnited Kingdom

It was beautiful and compact with plenty things to do, museums to visit and trips to do outwith the city. The Salzburg pass was well worth every penny, I took the 2 day option and saved a lot of money. Bus travel is free for visitors and can be applied for from your accommodation prior to travelling and therefore you can travel from the airport to the city for nothing. The city museum is closed though for the next 2 years but there are plenty of smaller museums to visit. I really enjoyed a seat and a glass of wine at the modern art gallery. I'm not a big fan of modern art but the view from it and the walk to the St Augustines brewery was a must do. It's a magical city.Guest review byBlackwood - 10

Great location and view of the lake, but wished we had booked a room with a balcony and view. Room and facilities were very clean. A bit impersonal as there was no staff in the evening but overall great stay.Guest review byAdalineFrance - 8.0

A very beautiful destination, we were alone on the mountain ridges most of the time. We would definitely like to return. For swimming, we recommend the lake in Zell am See rather than the local swimming pool, which is quite small and completely crowded.Guest review byMartinaCzech Republic - 10

I loved Bad Gastein’s mix of Belle Époque elegance and wild mountain scenery. Mornings meant hiking and cable-car views; afternoons were for soaking in the thermal waters; evenings, cozy bars and great food. The waterfall running through town gives the whole place a dramatic energy. It felt like stepping back in time without losing modern comfort—truly a memorable stay.Guest review byLillianUnited States - 8.0

It is a residential town so not much atmosphere or amenities other than hotels. It suited us very well as it was very peaceful. Driving or taxi into Salzburg is the best option. Otherwise a bus or taxi to an out of town shopping centre plus a bus from there. We parked out the out of town shopping centre for dinner and got a parking ticket. It was not well advertised that we should have paid for parking. Nothing to do with the hotel but be warned!Guest review byCarolynUnited Kingdom - 8.0
A village in beautiful scenery that lacks something.
A village in beautiful scenery that lacks something. Accessibility of services (hiking, lifts, restaurants) was a bit confusing. Many services did not have clear English instructions/price lists/online shops. The Tyrolean region summer card seemed to give you a much wider range of services than the Salzburger region.Guest review byReijoFinland - 8.0

Sankt Gilgen was lovely - picture postcard beautiful with plenty to do to keep us busy (lake and mountains walks, boat rides, trains, cable cars). Visiting in September, we found it very quiet at night with very few restaurants open, particularly on a Monday and Tuesday. Finding somewhere to eat on spec is difficult and we would strongly recommend pre-booking if you want to eat out.Guest review byClaireUnited Kingdom - 10

I've been visiting Bad Hofgastein for 12 years in the summer holiday, and with every visit it gets a bigger space in my heart. Plenty of memories, plenty of relaxation, plenty of beautiful and peaceful sceneries, and every year people are being nicer and sweeter. The town keeps developing and renovating that can be noticed in every visit.Guest review byBasmaUnited Arab Emirates - 10
The Hotel Kohlpeter was in a quiet residential area of...
The Hotel Kohlpeter was in a quiet residential area of Salzburg with very convenient access to a bus stop and grocery store. Old Town Salzburg has many sights to see: fortress up on top of the hill, churches with fabulous architecture, some of St. Peter's catacombs where the Sound of Music was partially filmed. There are many great restaurants, walk along the river and some days, there is quite a market with tents as far as the eye can see. Across the river is another interesting area so don't miss this as well. Be sure to take a bus or drive to the Hellbrunn Palace and enjoy all the water theatrics outside. We enjoyed Mozart's father's house where he was brought up ... the birth house isn't as worthy.Guest review bySuzanneUnited States
