Mondi Bellevue is ideally located in Badgastein, the spa facilities are excellent and free of charge, the rooms are spacious and well equipped. We have just completed a 2 night stay in a family suite and I can not rave about this hotel enough. All the staff were incredibly friendly and professional and so good with my 10 year old daughter. The indoor and outdoor playroom were a big hit and the pool area is amazing. The food was excellent and our room was even nicer than the pictures. Thank to everyone for making my 50th birthday a memorable one!!!

    The hotel is splendid. When one enters the foyer it is as if they have gone back in time. The service is to perfection, anything one might need is just a question away, often times just a glance away. The interior is very opulent, reminiscing of the Belle Epoque. Dining at the Belvedere restaurant is a gastronomic and an aesthetic experience, with French cuisine and a 180 degrees vista of Lake Zell. Definitely worth a visit!

    The old town centre is very picturesque and the area around...

    The old town centre is very picturesque and the area around the Market Place is traffic-free. Mozart's birthpace is one of the main attractions and is very interesting to visit, and not too expensive either. I'm not too great with heights but I thoroughly enjoyed riding the funicular to the Castle for terrific views over the city and out towards the Alpine mountains. Mirabell Park is great for a leisurely stroll, and there is a small playground to keep the children entertained. The restaurants and bars are plentiful and serve a variety of different cuisines to suit all tastes, but try the local specialities such as sausages, stews, schnitzels and goulash, and there is always a good range of German and Austrian beers and lagers to choose from.

    An excellent place to visit. Beautiful scenery. Loads to see and do. Lovely food. Would advise when booking accommodation that you book somewhere that includes the summer card as this gives you free access to all the gondolas in the area and free travel on local buses and trains plus discounted entry to many activities and saves you a lot of money.

    I loved Bad Gastein’s mix of Belle Époque elegance and wild mountain scenery. Mornings meant hiking and cable-car views; afternoons were for soaking in the thermal waters; evenings, cozy bars and great food. The waterfall running through town gives the whole place a dramatic energy. It felt like stepping back in time without losing modern comfort—truly a memorable stay.

    A very beautiful destination, we were alone on the mountain ridges most of the time. We would definitely like to return. For swimming, we recommend the lake in Zell am See rather than the local swimming pool, which is quite small and completely crowded.

    A village in beautiful scenery that lacks something. Accessibility of services (hiking, lifts, restaurants) was a bit confusing. Many services did not have clear English instructions/price lists/online shops. The Tyrolean region summer card seemed to give you a much wider range of services than the Salzburger region.

    It is a residential town so not much atmosphere or amenities other than hotels. It suited us very well as it was very peaceful. Driving or taxi into Salzburg is the best option. Otherwise a bus or taxi to an out of town shopping centre plus a bus from there. We parked out the out of town shopping centre for dinner and got a parking ticket. It was not well advertised that we should have paid for parking. Nothing to do with the hotel but be warned!

    I've been visiting Bad Hofgastein for 12 years in the summer holiday, and with every visit it gets a bigger space in my heart. Plenty of memories, plenty of relaxation, plenty of beautiful and peaceful sceneries, and every year people are being nicer and sweeter.     Sankt Johann is a clean and beautiful town with gorgeous views of the mountains. Walked to visit the town center for breakfast at Bäckerei-Cafe-Konditorei Bauer. We visited Liechtensteinklamm just before they closed. It was the best time to visit the gorge.

    It is better to visit on a Friday and stay until Saturday.

    It is better to visit on a Friday and stay until Saturday. Sunday is very quiet. Almost no shops open and the best restaurants are either not open or require prior reservation. The city is much more than a Mozart touristy novelty. I enjoyed touring the Castle Fortress at the top of the hill. I was disappointed that the Salzburg museum and chapel were closed to visitors on Sunday. But this was due to special events and renovations.
